Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Ran 1.25 mile with Larissa, then 6 by myself around the neighborhood road and greenbelt trail.  It's perfect running weather with T in the low 50s, slight breeze, partly cloudy.  I saw blue birds flying and heard birds singing. Happy day! :)

Earlier in the morning, we made breakfast for Larissa's b'day.  After breakfast, Bryan and his two friends, Christina and Rachelle performed their violin and violas for us.  They left for Houston Rice University to do an audition for the German International Summer Festival at noon today.  So proud of their awesome performance and talents.

Just got a call from Fleets Feet that I won a pair of Saucony shoes.  They said I can choose any Saucony,  so may be I will take the Kinvara!  :)  I will go pick them up when I go pick up my race packet on Friday evening.  Sweet!!! :)

Wow, do you have your whole family in for this marathon? Sounds like a great day, love those Kingwood green belts. We don't have those over on this side of town.

Way cool that you won those shoes. I was trying on a pair of those this weekend. They were way cummfy, but I got a pair of Brooks.

Rachelle ~ thanks! You are so cute!

RAD ~ I kept thinking about you when my daughter had to get up super early to run so she can get back in time to get the two older kids off to school just like you. but she only runs 3 days a week and only 3 miles. That is plenty enough for a busy busy mom. I really admire you young mothers doing so much so well! :)

SSF ~ I feel so very blessed every waking moment of my life, especially now spending time with my family. Life really is an eternal family plan...and a piece of heaven on earth! :)

Kathie ~ free new running shoes is THE BEST! How are you? We are going to attend a mission fireside put on by the Houston East Mission this Sat. night. My daughter is playing two musical numbers. I wish it included your son's mission. Miss you! :)

Toby ~ it is so fun to visit my TX grandkids especially during the cooler time of year! :)

Brooke ~ kids grow up so fast! Baby Jett is one year old already and he changes so much in just 6 months.

Flat ~ not the whole family! Bryan already went home to Utah after his audition! Larry is going home on Fri. so he can be at the Church's world wide training on Sat. plus he has Ward Conference on Sunday. But my daughter (whom you've met last year) and her whole family are planning to take me to the marathon and stay to cheer! I hope they will have fun at the

State Park! Yes, the Greenbelt is nice for running, still concrete though!

Rhett ~ I have never run in any shoes other than Mizuno. I am excited to try different shoes...especially since it is free! :)
