Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

The sky was blue.  The road was damp.  The temp was a balmy 35.  Smooth attended meetings after meetings, used up a whole box of Kleenex, drank a gallon of water, did not run a single step.   Tomorrow will be a better day!

Oh SmoothieQ ...

Please get feeling better really soon. Do we need to put a panic button in the little girls' room for you? We can NOT have a repeat of last year. Take care of yourself. PLEASE!! Or ... maybe I should come down and take care of you! LLL

From Smooth on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 23:17:42

O Sweetpea Teena!!!

No worries. I'm not gonna have a repeat of last year. I've been drinking. You have enough little people to take care of at your house. But, I'd LOVE to have you do Painter's with me, you can "take care" of me then. LLL LLL LLL

REST!!! I Am sorry you are not feeling well. It must be bad to skip the run :(

Keep on those fluids. I finally bought Emergen-C. I don't know if it is helping, but I am getting better and for sure NOT worse ;) Hang tough!

From Smooth on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 23:31:50

Marion,

Not running on a perfect day like today really KILLS. But I guess it's better to rest. Yes, I'm taking extra dose of Emergen-C.

I haven't found any pink l/s shirt yet. All my l/s shirts are from races, lotsa black, one orange, couple of whites, one green. I used to have a dark red Ogden one, but gave it to my son. I'll keep looking.

From Marion on Fri, Jan 09, 2009 at 00:37:25

The temp trend looks like it is going up. I may get a red short sleeve to go under my long sleeve pink. It has been around 30 at 9am in StG. We may have to go shopping Friday night ;D Whoo Hoo!!!

Take ever so good care of yourself! Rest is important even on the most perfect day. I dunno how everywhere else was so warm. The little pocket in Salem must have been some sort of weather anomaly. It was SO cold. I have never been covered in frost and ice before. I looked like a Mt Everest climber. The temp at the hospital was 15 degrees and it was significantly warmer there than down lower in the fields where I was running. All of my frost was melted by the time I got all the way home :( I really wanted to show David how cool I looked.

Sounds like all guys up there in Utah have colds. You need to quit sharing your germs with each other. Smooth, I hope you get better soon.
