81F.  Ran at a moderate 7:55 avg pace.  Normally I'd do a recovery run after a workout like yesterday's, but I'm having a...minor procedure done this afternoon (not running related) that will probably take me out for the rest of the week.  So I kept a solid pace today since I'll have plenty of rest coming up.

Hm. Sounds like a minor procedure my husband had a few years ago that took him out for about...3 days. Good luck with that.

From Dan on Mon, Jul 25, 2011 at 23:02:15 from 24.209.83.20

Hope you are back at it in no time! Don't rush it, heal right!

From JG on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 12:37:15 from 71.57.246.108

Nice run Joe, you have a couple solid months of solid base building, a couple days rest will be good for you.

From flatlander on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 13:25:21 from 198.207.244.102

Take it easy, hope everything is uneventful.

From Burt on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 13:30:20 from 206.19.214.144

Vasectomy.

There I said it for you.

From Rye on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 14:45:32 from 71.209.52.51

Don't sit in a float tube. Two weeks and a painful infection....... It looked like I had 4 instead of 2.

From I Just Run on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 15:02:40 from 67.79.11.242

I'm aspiring to run "moderatly" at a 7:55 pace ;-)

Don't worry, that procedure isn't too bad...!

From seeaprilrun on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 17:24:15 from 174.70.177.86

I watched my husband get his. In fact, the surgeon waved me over for a closer look. Hope the ride home in the car wasn't too bad...take a lortab first. We live on a dirt road...that was a bummer.

From I Just Run on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 17:38:13 from 67.79.11.242

April....Did I sense a little chuckle after you wrote "the surgeon waved me over for a closer look"? Now that's not nice ;-)

From seeaprilrun on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 17:52:30 from 174.70.177.86

IJR--yes, a little chuckle. He really DID wave me over though! I was sitting politely in a chair against the wall and he had me come and stand right there over my husband and he talked about everything he was doing. I practically assisted...I'm thinking I was all up in the sterile field haha.

From I Just Run on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 18:18:35 from 67.79.11.242

Ha ha...

I can just imaging:

Doctor: April, come over and I'll show you what I'm doing.

April: Oh, wow...can I hold that tool?

Doctor: Sure but be careful it might cause some pain.

April: (Smiles) Really....?

Doctor: Wait....!!!

Husband: Oooooo...!!!!!!!

April: Thanks Doctor, now I've got his attention! You can have the tool back

:-)

From JG on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 23:01:56 from 71.57.246.108

How do you guys know he wasn't just getting a toe nail removed?! :)

From Dan on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 23:14:51 from 24.209.83.20

I'm just enjoying the IJR and april banter :)

From DaleG on Tue, Jul 26, 2011 at 23:22:30 from 152.216.11.5

I'm too chicken to have it done.

Get well, soon.

From I Just Run on Wed, Jul 27, 2011 at 10:28:27 from 67.79.11.242

JG...You know he's looking at his Blog and if it wasn't so, he'd say something! LOL...I have a right to :-(

From SlowJoe on Wed, Jul 27, 2011 at 12:00:39 from 74.196.65.182

I knew I shouldn't have put the "..." before "minor procedure." Is that what gave it away?

April - I see you also have a loving, generous and brave husband.

Rye - that sounds....horrible

IJR - hah - thanks for the humor

Everyone else - thanks for the well wishes, it isn't as bad as I'd imagined.

From I Just Run on Wed, Jul 27, 2011 at 12:14:34 from 67.79.11.242

So...Apparently your wife didn't get her hands on the tool :-)

From SlowJoe on Wed, Jul 27, 2011 at 12:29:33 from 74.196.65.182

Maybe next week

From I Just Run on Wed, Jul 27, 2011 at 13:14:21 from 67.79.11.242

How's it hanging Joe? I mean...how are you doing, er...

From I Just Run on Thu, Jul 28, 2011 at 12:02:59 from 67.79.11.242

Hey April...Maybe you should ask SlowJoe's Girl that question...LOL

From Steam8 on Thu, Jul 28, 2011 at 12:16:12 from 166.70.55.77

Hahahaa! Hey, you only have 2 kids. That better not be the procedure! You might just have to have it undone.:)

From Burt on Thu, Jul 28, 2011 at 12:38:06 from 206.19.214.144

Now he's definitely not allowed in Utah.

From Steam8 on Thu, Jul 28, 2011 at 12:41:39 from 166.70.55.77

So true! I feel like a big slacker only having four! I am #8 of 8 in my fam! ha!

From I Just Run on Thu, Jul 28, 2011 at 12:43:39 from 67.79.11.242

I think we like 2's here in Texas.. :-)

From SlowJoe on Thu, Jul 28, 2011 at 15:01:43 from 75.109.104.60

April - I think I'm ready for my first run as half a man, but I'm gonna play it safe and wait until tomorrow before trying to jog a couple miles.

Burt - thanks for all the detail. I wonder how many comments you would get with that "neutered" post today versus 3 years ago...

S8 - don't know how you guys do it, once the kids outnumber the parents...scary

IJR - Some days, even 2 kids feels like a lot!

From Burt on Thu, Jul 28, 2011 at 15:10:27 from 206.19.214.144

Yeah, I wasn't as outspoken about all the intimate details of my life back then as I am now.

From Dan on Fri, Jul 29, 2011 at 00:00:38 from 24.209.83.20

Burt, what are you saying? I never hear you say anything even remotely inappropriate. Stay Classy :)

This thread makes me laugh.
