78F, S 24-36 mph.  8:33 avg.  The headwind sections were kind of funny, really ground to a halt.  This week is a scale-back week with mileage in the 40s, then back to building up again.

Luckly the wind didn't start blowing hard here until after I was finished running (only about 15 mph during the run). I can't believe you are running what you are after the race/run Saturday...no real rest?

I'm cutting back to about 75% this week, mileage-wise. The heat during the race made me go slow enough to where the soreness was just more like a long run versus a marathon. Legs are still a little fatigued but not too bad.

78 degrees and a breeze.... you must feel great running in that! Good luck this week cutting back a bit. Gotta freshen up those legs for the next phase!

You have motivated me to play it smart and keep my easy days mellow...it's paying off for you bigtime. Have you decided on a fall marathon?

Must be nice to scale back to the 40's, I am trying to figure out how to get in the 40's in the heat! Nice run.

Rye - it was even nicer this morning!

April - ahhh fall marathon. I still don't know. If I do one at all, the most likely is Albuquerque right now, but the problem with that one is it's 2 weeks before our local half marathon and I really want to do well there. Kansas would be just about perfect but we're going to be in Tyler that weekend. I might end up just signing up at the last minute for one of the Texas races if I see a good weather forecast - that could mean not doing one at all, which I'm ok with. I have this weird issue where I don't want to enter one unless I know I'll PR, so I'm being a baby about picking one with cool temps. I guess it's because a marathon takes you out for weeks (taper + recovery) so I don't want to waste the training time for Houston unless I know I'll do well. Long answer to your short question!

JG - every morning when the alarm goes off [way too early], I wonder if it's worth it...but I'm always happy once I start running.
