I see that Tyler was a PR half marathon for you. My friend who's on the same pftiz plan as you PR'd too. Also, both of you did it as a "training run" and not racing. I guess that has to do with HR, huh?

One of the coaches at my running store was talking about Greg PR'ing at Tyler... seriously one of the most difficult courses around here ...on a training run?? He thought that was just very impressive! I told him there was a guy on my blog who did the exact same thing on the exact same plan. All I can say is the real race is going to be crazy good if this is what you can do on a training run.

One of these days, I may have to give this Pftiz plan and heart rate training a try.

Well, I knew it would be a slow course and that I would be doing a fast one in a few weeks... but don't get me wrong, I was pushing at the end - just more not so much at the beginning. My old PR was only 1:39, although I did a 1:36 first half at the OKC marathon.

So, my wife and I were entertained by Greg on the Tyler Rose facebook page the other day. He was pretty much taunting and ridiculing the guy who won (beat Greg by 20 seconds or so) because he had a 20-minute positive split. The winner ran 1:20, 1:39 and Greg ran 1:34, 1:25. He called the guy out for not knowing what he was doing.
