34F, N 13 mph.  7:23 AP.  After an 8-minute mile to start things off I quickly picked up the pace and did a pretty solid aerobic effort this morning.  The paces for the last half of the run were all 7:00-7:20 with the last mile finally sub-7.  So, not a very purposeful run since it was too slow to be MP, but things were feeling pretty good today so I tried to make it count for something.

Wow - solid for a mid-week run.

Are you officially signed up for your next marathon?

From SlowJoe on Wed, Feb 08, 2012 at 10:29:18 from 132.3.53.68

dh - I'm waiting to see where we end up moving. I'll sign up either for this smaller one in central Kansas in mid-April, or Oklahoma City in late April.

Awesome run Joe!

It is freezing out there and looks pretty windy too! Way to get so many miles in, and fast!

From I Just Run on Wed, Feb 08, 2012 at 10:42:33 from 67.79.11.242

Sounds like you've gotten over the recovery hump! Good to hear the confidence in your voice! I hope you run OK :-) I went ahead and signed up.

Dasha - yeah it was a chilly start going into the wind, for sure

IJR - cool, I might actually see you there this time!

Only if the weather is better! I'll skip out if it's like it was last year. That run just about killed me :-( Not a good experience for my first marathon...It's got me a little scared just thinking about running my next one!

From Rye on Wed, Feb 08, 2012 at 15:47:40 from 75.174.35.187

That's a great run Joe. You are amazing. If I ran a 7:23 overall pace, there would be great purpose in that run!

From seeaprilrun on Wed, Feb 08, 2012 at 20:05:03 from 205.172.12.230

It counts. I have had a lot of runs ending like this in the 7 - 7:20 range feeling good so I hope it counts for something. Sooner or later I will nudge it down sub-7 and quit being a tempo chicken.

From SlowJoe on Thu, Feb 09, 2012 at 12:40:35 from 132.3.53.68

IJR - what, you don't like 30 mph winds and hail??

Rye - yeah don't get me wrong, it wasn't quite a walk in the park...

April - at least you're not an ultra chicken - that is going to be a crazy race. I think I am doing something fast tomorrow, don't yet know for sure what that will be.
