67F, SSE 12 mph.  Running felt horrible this morning so I turned around at 5 to go back home early - I'd planned on 12.  I just figured I'd be better off with more rest since I am obviously not myself right now, running-wise.  Then around mile 7 I started to feel better and the pace dropped while my breathing slowed down almost to normal "easy" levels.  Never had it take that long before.  Weird - 8:20s and 8:10s felt like tempo pace initially and then 7:30s later almost felt like recovery when I snapped out of it.  I still quit at 10 miles because there's still something wrong with me, hopefully just the sickness making everything more difficult and out of sorts.  Ended up with 7:53/mile.

Did you have chili dogs for dinner last night like me?

Burt.. that sounds gross. Joe, it's amazig what a day of rest can do!

I had hot dogs last night for dinner and I feel fine...? I'd say rest 2-3 days, you're not going to lose any conditioning in that short amount of time.

Chili dogs are the greatest invention of the last two centuries.

Good run Joe, when my legs are tired they often don't loosen up until about mile 7, makes one get concerned early in the run when a slow pace feels hard!

Burt - nope, chili fries...completely different

Rye - I've heard about these "days off' before but figured they were mostly theoretical

IJR - I might end up doing that after Sunday if it goes as poorly as I expect.

JG - similar story here, but this one was alarmingly bad...just a temporary rut, I think
