79F.  This is my easy week -- I averaged 67 miles/week over the last 3 weeks so I'll cut mileage back about 20% this week to rest up.

7:39 AP today, pretty evenly paced effort.  I'm getting excited about how certain paces are starting to feel.  I did have the fast shoes on, but this still felt a lot easier than it should've.  Later on in the week I'll do a tempo to better figure out where I'm at.

When 7:39 feels easy breezy, yeah, that's definitely a good sign. With all this consistent training, I think you need to think about sub-3 at Houston.

Im with April, if 7:39 is feeling good, you have some big races ahead of you! Nice work.

April - looking at my training schedule I see lots of long MP runs, should get a better idea then; thanks for the vote of confidence

Dan - almost scary how easy it felt but going by "feel" itself can be a tricky thing

Good call on the recovery week.

I have been discussing paces lately with fellow runners. My body's "groove" pace used to be around 8:10 pace, now it is 7:30's. Strangely enough, I find the groove pace easier than slower recovery runs. For example, I will be struggling and my heart rate will be higher at the slower pace than if I pick up it and run at the faster pace. I am not sure why this is but it is something that I have noticed.

DH - Funny, I have noticed the same thing...like why am I breathing harder @ 8:30 pace today than @ 7:30 pace another day? strange!
