Since Jake and Andrea are always posting majestic scenery from their runs/hikes, I thought I'd counterpunch with some of the beautiful scenery from MY backyard.  So this whole week, I'll be posting pictures of where I run in NW San Antonio.

This serene pond greets me in mile 1.  Sometimes I can just picture Wordsworth in a place like this, writing about the beauty of nature.

I mean, yeah, you don't want your skin to contact the water, but you enjoy nature's beauty with your eyes...not by touching it.

Toss up b/w your photos and Andrea's today. I'll give you the nod since you posted twice as many and apparently risked your life in the process.

Who wants to swim in the summer anyways?

It is actually quite pretty! And I can almost see the swarms of mosquitos :)

From the pictures you can't even see the (apparent) toxic fumes floating up into the air, so it is quite pretty. Don't trip when running past.

No gubmint sign gonna keep me from wading!

Oh it doesn't stop people! They love to wade out there and fish. I just hope to God they throw back whatever they catch.

Rebellious waders are everywhere.

Later, in jail: What are you in for? Illegal Wading, and you?
