73F, SSE 12 mph.  8:33 AP.  I started out really slow today and was able to last through 12 miles.  The last one was a sub-8!  Not sure why I'm celebrating being able to do a single mile at MP + 30 sec....I suck.  Anyway, I felt a little less beat down today so maybe I'm a step closer to acclimating a bit.  My stomach is still hanging on to everything for a long time, so maybe that's a small factor too - it's hard to hydrate.

We're off to San Antonio today to visit Shamu and friends on Wednesday.  We thought we'd be clever and go early this year when it's not so hot, but the high is 100 on Wednesday anyway.  Guessing I won't run tomorrow, but maybe a few from the hotel on Thursday morning before we head back.

Have fun in San Antonio. Today should be great as far as "less" crowds go. But yeah, it will be hot. My 3 year old daughter will be envious, she told me just this morning that she wanted to go back and see Shamu! Have a blast.

Hey Joe,

If you see the Shamu show...Our company created all of the water effects in that show... Hope you enjoy! Say hi to Shamu for me, but don't get too close he's kinda mean...!

Not to dispute what IJR says, but I would think today would be a good day to sit in the splash zone. Good luck, I have spent some hot days in that park.

You do not suck. You are funny!

Enjoy Shamu, that is HOT!!! It was almost that hot when we visited Shamu in November in San Diego. It was kinda miserable!

I think our high for wednesday might just hit 60 and maybe it will even not rain all day!

From SlowJoe on Tue, May 24, 2011 at 23:21:21 from 66.64.5.246

DH - yeah with school still in session it shouldn't be too bad

IJR - cool, I will pay attention this time. We noticed last year the trainers didn't swim with him/her anymore.

Flat - good call. We have suffered through some tough SW days as well.

Kelli - you guys deserve some nice weather, enjoy it! it's funny how bad our luck is - we get a nasty hot day in San Antonio, and leave Abilene while they get 2 cool mornings (lows of 63 and 59). Then come back right when it gets hot (high is 105 on Friday).

OH MAN, 105 sounds DREADFUL. Sorry, I am not being positive here for you. I will mail you some posicles!!!

Hope you're having fun in all that heat! At least no running today will give you a bit more time to recover from the flu.

Way to rock it, Joe! Have a great time!

I'm resisting making a Shamu joke...
