55F.  Back to the track today for 3 x (6 x 20 sec @ vvo2).  5 min jog between sets.  Felt good again, did them on the football field and it's always nice feeling energized on the way home instead of depleted.  My butt's still a little sore, but couldn't tell while running so I figured I was good to go for the strides.

Plan for the rest of the week is a pretty easy progression on Thursday, and a 5k race on Saturday.

Good stuff, another cheeky little session out of the way. The plan for the week looks good. I'd suggest that you be careful not to overcook your progression run on Thursday - you don't want heavy legs on Saturday.

What sort of time are you expecting? Something in the low 14:30's:)?

From SlowJoe on Tue, May 07, 2013 at 08:55:11 from 155.219.241.10

April - last year the course was 3-1/4 miles, so maybe not PR material, but definitey going to get in a good, hard effort.

thanks allie - i'm hoping to win by 0.0001 seconds

Bam - definitely planning on making it a gentle progression on thursday. I think the 5k course is long, so maybe only a 14:59.

Nah, goal will be to feel out the pace a bit more and finish faster than i start. Not ready to blaze PR pace yet by any means, but I'm feeling decent.

Thanks for pre-entering my runs. I'll just cut and paste as needed. I think I'll actually wait until next week to get started so you don't get behind and mess me up. :-)

Nice set Joe. If you were more regular your butt would not hurt.

I didn't read yesterday's entry before I read today's, but I read it to find out why you were mentioning your butt.. Sorry about the soreness. I think Bam used the word "cheeky" on purpose.

That's funny Tracy.

Great workout Joe. I'm going to implement your "leave some gas in the tank" mentality on my next buildup. Sure keeps your confidence up. Looks like you'll be set up quite nicely for the 5k this weekend. This quick snappy stuff should help.

From SlowJoe on Wed, May 08, 2013 at 07:55:24 from 155.219.241.10

I set myself up for butt jokes pretty nicely there, well done all.

Matt - I got that advice from reading Jake's blog, so I shouldn't take credit. But I will. Anyway, I noticed it helped me a lot during tough buildups to recover in time for the next workout.
