AM:  51F, SW 11 mph.  6 @ 8:44 AP. Plan for this week is lots of easy doubles, get the volume back up while recovering from the race (should be easy this time), and do a marathon simulation run on Sunday (~15 miles @ MP).  The funny thing is that yesterday I just about averaged marathon pace but, eh, not quite the same.

PM:  53F, NNE 20-25 mph.  4 more @ 8:42 AP.

You average an amazing pace in that wind. sounds like a good plan for the week.

I did a little post-race athlinks stalking...limited info but I think you were right on with your 5-7 min slowdown estimate (I found one other guy that ran the Houston half 5.5 minutes faster than he ran this, and that race was windy too).

haha that is funny, my estimate was largely based on athlinks stalking. so Bam was actually doing pretty good on his predictions I think, in ideal(still) conditions. I still vote that out of all the hardships(heat, hills, wind)--wind is the worse, hands down. You can work with heat and train for hills, but really, wind is wind and I never heard of anyone being a good "wind" runner.
