I think I've said all I have to say about the race, so please enjoy some copyrighted photos of my misery at the end.  I think it's a nice progression.

First one is in the 3rd mile; nice and upright.  Not sure what the weird face is all about, possible sniper in an adjacent building maybe.  You can see Daniel Brunson in the background!

Next one is somewhere in the first half, can't remember where - either 10k or 10 miles.  Danielle said it's my "Joe's Not Impressed" look.  I make a lot of weird faces when racing, I guess.  Still just out for a nice stroll though.

Let's skip ahead to just after the mile 25 marker.  Note the trademark balled up fist, flailing arms, and pained expression.

Aaaaand, I'm toast.

Easier to smile when it's over!

Ah, yes. That moment when you wonder if you still have legs, but you know you have arms because they are up to your ears, swinging side to side.

From Andrea on Tue, Nov 20, 2012 at 18:58:32 from 67.177.11.154

Love the progression pics!

I dare you to take 10 days off :)

From Jake K on Tue, Nov 20, 2012 at 20:06:11 from 67.177.11.154

You look pretty good toasted! Most people have slobber coming out of their mouth by that point!

From SlowJoe on Wed, Nov 21, 2012 at 09:34:27 from 155.219.241.11

Jason - I am definitely aware I have legs but seem to lose peripheral vision. Is that weird?

Andrea - 10 days?! Actually it'll be close to that bc we're going to my in-laws til Sunday and I am NOT BRINGING RUNNING SHOES!

Jake - pretty sure the high-resolution pics would show the slobber, boogers and everything else. See that's how they sucker you in, with the low-res shots.

From Andrea on Wed, Nov 21, 2012 at 09:46:58 from 72.37.171.52

Yes 10 days! I was looking back at the people that ran marathons this fall and no one I saw that took 10 days off is injured now but lots of people (at least 20%) that didn't take off that amount ended up with an injury. It's worth it!!!

Oh, also if you really think the iron helped you feel better, definitely keep taking it post-marathon for at least a week. It's a good idea even for people that don't usually take it b/c of all the excessive breakdown of red blood cells from the marathon :)

From SlowJoe on Wed, Nov 21, 2012 at 10:35:46 from 155.219.241.11

Good enough for me, I'd be dumb NOT to listen to you. I was considering 2 full weeks off awhile back, so 10 days is definitely doable, especially since I want to hit some high mileage later on this winter.

Definitely keeping up the iron as well, thanks.

Love the photos! Thanks for sharing. Rest is nice, eat well :)

I couldn't believe there was no orange shirt but good pictures anyway! You should buy them so you know what a 3:+ marathoner looks like....You're soon going to bust that and forget! :-)

From Jason D on Wed, Nov 21, 2012 at 21:20:13 from 198.228.228.161

Loss of peripheral vision is VERY bad. I read a bit ago about it, but I can't remember where or what. I do know it was a sign to stop, but since you are okay we won't worry about it but see what other folks say. I see what I can find when I get to a computer.

Awesome photo montage.

I just noticed that not only are we the only two Oklahoma bloggers, but we joined the blog on exactly the same date. Weird, huh?

Love it!

IJR - Yeah the orage shirt was fired, too many bad races in a row. Looks like it was the right move!

Jason - I'm sure it just seemed like that as I just didn't have the energy to look around anymore.

Daniel - that is definitely a weird coincidence, never noticed that.

From SlowJoe on Sun, Nov 25, 2012 at 18:40:22 from 69.131.141.92

I just spelled orange wrong to drive the point home with the shirt. That'll teach it. Stupid shirt.

From Rye on Tue, Nov 27, 2012 at 10:39:10 from 75.174.40.216

So nice to hear the comments on the ugly orange shirt. IJR profile pick is a great upgrade from the past. Carry on!

From I Just Run on Tue, Nov 27, 2012 at 12:17:57 from 67.79.11.242

Joe & Daniel,

I'd be a littl worried if you both were from Arknasas. It might not be a coincidence in that case :-)
