88F, SSW 13-24 mph.  Short run after work to test the waters.  Felt a little weak, but not bad considering what life was like yesterday at this time.  Couple of throw-up burps but otherwise fine.  8:10 AP.

I'm thinking about going ahead with my 8-miler w/ 2-3 @ MP tomorrow, which was the original plan.  Thursday feels a little too late, though it probably doesn't matter that much.  I'd hate for the MP miles to feel hard tomorrow because of residual stomach bug effects, and then shatter my fragile confidence.  Maybe I'll just do them downhill.

Nice 4 mile shakeout. Dude, with over 1,000 miles under your belt this year, the only thing that will help you Sunday at this point is being healthy & 100% recovered from spewing your insides out! 100% not 98% ... I would cut that 8 miler in half & focus on hydration/nutrition ... you are going to rock OKC with all your strength back!

JG - thanks, you are probably right. I just do really poorly the less I run. I take 2 days off and I feel like the fat kid in gym class, all out of breath and sluggish. Definitely a fine line, I hate tapering!

I know that is what you prefer & under normal circumstances would not have said that ... but I once heard it takes 48 hours to get your strength back from a 24 hour bug ... or maybe I made that up ... I just know 26 miles digs deep into strength reserves ... hence I would conserve! :)

I think JG is right on but I am the same way about getting rickety after just one day off. Maybe cut it to 5 miles with just 2 at MP and not take much stock in it?
