70F, 95%.  Friday is track day, so I was back for more torture.  This time 6 x 800m, 300m recoveries, shooting for 800's between my theoretical McMillan 5K and 10K pace - so 2:55 - 3:02.  I was successful again; average was 2:57.  I think I'm getting better at these, finally.

2:58, 2:59, 2:58, 2:56, 2:57, 2:56.

Recoveries averaged 1:33.

Only downside today was all the gnat clouds around one of the curves.  They all seemed to be right on the inside of lane 1.  So the choice was to either run through the gnats, or take lane 2 and add a little distance....my chest ended up looked like a killing field with maybe a hundred dead gnat bodies stuck to my torso.  I think I ate 5 or 6, with one ending up in my eye.

I was once told that gnats are good protein. Man they have been bad this year. I've feel I've been responsible for hundreds of gnat deaths in the past several weeks.

Spot on - nice workout!

Nice 800's joe. The gnat problem... Don't understand that.... We just put away the snow shovels.

I keep getting gnats in my work truck when I leave my door open. No fun. Great workout. Now go get that sub 3 marathon!

I agree with Burt, sub-3 coming up.

Very nice job. Gnats - yum. We have a few clouds of them while we were running in the park the other day.

DB - Let's hope they learned their lesson and passed the word down to their gnat friends everywhere to stay off the roads.

Jake - thanks

Rye - yeah, yeah, your turn to gloat about the weather - enjoy the summer!

Burt - lets hope you learned your lesson too!

Flat - not going to accept anything less next time!

dh - it's really sad when you're too tired to even swat them away from your face
