64F, 91%.  7:06 AP.  It stayed cool for my tempo run today.  5.5 easy, turn around, then 5.5 @ TT.  The tempo miles were 6:33 AP -- (6:40, 6:32, 6:34, 6:30, 6:35, 3:12).  I was targeting 6:36, so mission accomplished.  As it warms up this summer I might even slow it down a bit from there.  I'm just now figuring out that you don't have to race every tempo and take it to the house for every workout.

Since I finished with some gas in the tank, hopefully I'll be ready for some 400s on Friday.  We're getting a cold front tomorrow afternoon/evening, so I'm hoping to finally get some 5k (or better) paces on Friday.

Lucky you, it was 77 degrees this morning when I ran my tempo. Good run for you!

From Jake K on Wed, May 30, 2012 at 08:45:58 from 155.100.226.54

yep when its hot out, the tempo effort level can be the same, but you might be running 10 or so seconds slower per mile... but you are getting the exact same benefit. I guess that's why a lot of people use heart rate monitors on tempos... although i don't trust them. I try to just pay attention to my breathing and perceived effort level.

Cold front? I need to have another "talk" with Mother Nature.

We still share the long warm up, like it- nice tempo paces, hope I can join that... later... much later..

Nice run joe....wish that I could throw those times down....

Nice effort in the heat/humidity. BTW, as I get older I find that the phrase "take it to the house" means something a little different than it used to.

IJR - at least there is some benefit of living in Okie land

Jake - It's definitely a goal of mine to pay more attention to effort level, and less to my watch, this summer for tempos.

Burt - kick her for me when you are talking to her

Dan - I know my 5.5 mile warmup is slacking a bit, but I will get back up to 10 this Fall.

Rye - I don't think it'll be too long before you are.

Neil - I know what you mean. I think.
