Meh, I did the paces I was shooting for (a little faster than HM goal pace) but it was a lot of work. I did finish with some gas in the tank so I would recover faster, but my goal pace in 8 days is 6:43. I'd honestly be a little surprised if I can pull that off. I'm hoping that I owe some of the toughness of this workout to the fact that it's coming at the end of a pretty high-mileage week for me. I will be doing a 2-day taper for the Abilene half so I'll be a little more rested, but it will probably be warmer. We'll see, I think I'll need a lot of race day magic to break 1:28. |
