Well- I started coming down w/ a sore throat Sunday and I was hoping it was just something I had eaten. This morning when I woke up it was still around so I was lazy and stayed in bed.  I'm also terrible about taking too many days off after races.  So today I had 2 lame excuses that kept me in bed.  But tomorrow I am running 4 w/ Sara.  And I plan on going strong the rest of the week unless this cold progresses too much.  At this point its just a little sore throat, no biggie.

I was going to let you know I'm going to do about 8 tomorrow morning at the Dixie Center, not too early, but I see you are running with Sara. I hope you feel better (and definitely not worse)!

I think you are so smart to rest more as soon as you feel a cold coming on. That takes self discipline...not laziness...good for you.

Chrisi, I always try and run a few easy miles after a race, same day and a few easy miles the next day unless an injury is lurking. I am no expert, but the immune system seems to give me trouble if I taper too much before a race on take too much time off after.

Thanks for your comments, I am working on my base like many of the other runners on the blog. Hope your back at running soon. You gave a good race report and look forward to reading many more.
