Thanks to energetic friends who drag me around, I got in a great run today.  9.29  mi, 9:19 av. pace.  Happy to break the 9:50 slump I've been in lately.  I took 1/2 pack GU before the run and 1/2 pack about 45 into it, that helped ALOT.  Looks like I may get in my 25 mi. for this week after all! Heather & I have a 5/6 miler planned for tomorrow.  Mik'L or any of your St. George folk are more than welcome to join us tomorrow morning!

When and where are you running tomorrow? If it's not too early, I will probably tag along! Good job today, that's a long and speedy run!

Wow! Great mileage and awesome pace!! Way to get the miles in.

Thats great for meeting your goal, esp on week that was filled with so many events! Always feels empowering to break out of a slump. Have a great run tomorrow!

Great job on the mileage AND pace! It's always a great feeling to improve on both of those in one run! Nice way to wind down the week.

Great job Christi! Wow, you could be a gu commercial. I'm going to have to try that stuff now.

So glad you got your Garmin! Let the fun begin!

From Michelle on Sat, Dec 29, 2007 at 01:37:22

So this is what I'm thinking... I need someone who has lot's of experience with this kinda stuff to pace me through this training run to make things come out respectable..... Know anyone up for the job???

Oh, and how is that course? mostly down hill, flat, does it have some bad hills? I need some more info before I decide for good!

From Christi on Sat, Dec 29, 2007 at 12:00:55

Lybi- you know me, I should get paid by GU!! But word to the wise, its been known to cause tummy troubles, if you take some I suggest 1/2 pack at a time-(1/2 15 min. before a big run, and 1/2 pack every 45 min.) that's what I do and it works great. If I take too much I'll end up in the porta potty! Heard the same grumble from friends.

Michelle- I feel my arm twisting and I'm considering giving in! I'm kinda sore from my 9 miler yesterday, so I'm going to run 5 today and see how I feel the next few days. You should check out www.sgcity.org- go under departments, leisure- then races. They have a course map there. I've only ever run the 5k, but I'm familiar with most of the 1/2 route and as I can recall its all fairly flat, no scary hills. Pretty good course actually. It starts on the trail by the convention center, so I just hope it's not too congested on the trails, but I'm sure it will thin out...

From MarcieJ on Sat, Dec 29, 2007 at 20:46:30

I must confess, I think I saw the idea to post upcoming races on someone elses blog site, but I cant remember who!

On Painters 1/2course, you dont hit the trail system til around 3 miles into the run, so it should be pretty thinned out by then. I think Ruth course tooled the route, so maybe check that out too. It is a fairly flat course with a short uphill coming off the trail into Bloomington Hills and then Bloomington Drive (3 mile loop) has some very gradual incline but not bad at all.

Anyways nice miles today!

Way to make your weekly mileage goal!

I LOVE your Marcie-inspired Race Schedule and 2008 goals. I only have a few races figured out. A half in April. A ten miler in September. I need to search and find some more races. Thanks for your inspiration again!

From Christi on Sun, Dec 30, 2007 at 20:55:47

Hey Marcie- glad you weighed in with your opinion of the Painter's 1/2 course, that helps ALOT! Adrianne- great to hear from you too! I guess you're back from your holiday travels?
