Nice solo run today.  Was supposed to meet Sara for 4, but got to her house and it was all dark.  Waited for a few minutes, then decided to do a nice fairly flat 5 miler.  Little Valley Loop, one of my favorites.  No IPOD, so nice chance to reflect on Christmas vacation coming up and plans for that week (even mentally reviewed packing- LOL).  I started my watch then didn't look at it again until finished.  I didn't want to be pressured, I wanted to find a nice steady pace.  It felt like I was able to keep the 9:55 pace with no speeding up or slowing, nice easy run- only stopping to take off some layers and cross a road.  So glad I got my run in.  Will need the energy it brings- I'll be BUSY today with a long list of Dr. Appt., work,  shopping, cleaning, gymnastic performance and family coming into town!

Oh- no more real thoughts on Moab alternative.  I'm really not feeling ready for a 1/2, but I'd do it for fun if the gals come into town for it.  Otherwise I'd consider SLC 1/2 or Hurricane in the Spring.  I need to find the date for the SLC half...

Note to self..818.17 miles logged since joined the FRB in March.  Probably ran about 100ish combined in Jan & Feb.  Trying to decide what goals for next year will be...

Awesome job today - I would struggle for 5 miles with no ipod. Great mileage for 2007!

The SLC 1/2 is on April 19th.

Good job getting out and going it alone. The SLC half is April 19th, which actually works for me because we don't have a track meet that weekend. Hmmm...I too am definitely not ready for Painters, but it would probably be good for me to get up to 13 by then. Somebody else better decide for me! ;)

Wanna do Striders with us?

I'm doing Painters too. Ha ha on me.

So what do you think about the half idea's does on work better for you?

From Christi on Wed, Dec 19, 2007 at 00:43:09

All right gals. I'm gonna let you decide which 1/2 for me (copying you Mik'L) But I won't be ready until Spring, so as far as Painter's goes, I think I'll stick w/ the 5k. But I'm definately up for a 1/2 in March or April. Jody made the SLC 1/2 sound really appealing as she described the course, but Ogden sounds good too. I guess I'm not getting anywhere talking you into Hurricane? Anyway- let me know what ya'll decide on the 1/2! We should all at least run the 5k of Painters next month so we can hang out!! (nudge nudge...)

Too bad about the Moab race. I'm thinking the SLC 1/2 doesn't sound too bad, but we'll see. Good job on your run!
