Had to multi- task my run today.  Had to deliver flyers for church so it was kinda a crazy jog all over the neighborhood.  I hope to get in a couple more uninterrupted miles later today.

As for the whole gym saga- I realized I just don't have the motivation to make it to the 6am classes.  I only like to get up that early for something I enjoy and at this point- that's running.  Since I work from home and my kids are in school all day- its easy for me to workout right after I take the kids to school- so I'm having trouble getting motivated to get up at 5:30 unless I'm going to meet one of my wonderful running partners!

I will try to supplement toning at home w/ videos or go to later classes at the gym. Sorry to be so flaky about the gym Heather!

UPDATE: SASHA HAS ISSUED A GREAT CHALLENGE.  ONE I'M ACTUALLY CONSIDERING.  HE THINKS I CAN RUN A 3:30 MARATHON IF I'LL RUN 6 MILES/ 6 DAYS A WEEK.  I WAS STILL TRYING TO DECIDE IF I'M A MARATHON RUNNER OR NOT, BUT THIS IDEA OF SASHA'S IS REALLY TEMPTING! I THINK 3:30 IS REALLY AMBITIOUS- THAT WOULD MEAN I'D NEED SASHA'S WILL POWER AND CONSISTENCY.  BUT I'M THINKING MAYBE I COULD GO FOR A BQT? I'M GONNA SLEEP ON IT....

That's cool that you work from home, Christi! That's what I'd like to do when my kids are all in school.

Yea for streamlining your life! Running with buddies is the best. I like working out in the gym, but it seems to take up so much of the day whenever I do...

6am classes(!)--for me, it would have to be breathing exercises or meditation, or anything where they won't notice if I snooze off...

Good job today. Multitasking!

At least you have realized your limits rather than trying to "do it all" Plus, the point of finishing school is so you dont have to get up for 6 am classes anymore! I am impressed you were willing to try. Some people are just morning people I guess. (I, on the other hand...)

Not bad getting 3 miles in delivering flyers! And saved gas too.

Many runners have hit world-class times without ever having access to a gym. Try a simple survey - go to the gym and ask 20 people exercising there what their best time in the marathon is. Then go outside, and ask 20 people you see running what their best time in the marathon is. Compare averages - the results will send an obvious message.

Ah- reading your comments were a breath of fresh air. I do feel like I have to do it all. Thanks guys- for reminding me that I don't!

Christi- I read Sasha's challenge to you earlier but didn't have time to respond. Definatly sounds interesting and I think it would produce. It sounds like a fairly hefty comitment though? I wonder if it would work for me without the experience of having ever ran a marathon at all? Yes, I agree... something to sleep on. In all actuality that is what I have decided to do recently for myself but never really put into thought like that. I had decided to be consistent with 5 miles daily and then work up like that except for a longer run on Sat. that is what I was mentally doing to gear up for the upcoming halfs. I know that I often do longer weekly runs so I'm not sure if this is better or not? With the addition of about 1 mile with Callzee 5 nights a week. I guess I would really have to get those long runs in on Sat. to keep my base up? I am really starting to ramble I'm a little tired so think on it and I'll love to hear your thoughts when I have some thinking to go along with the typing!
