Exciting run this morning, albeit too short! Awoke with a start a 6:15 and realized I was supposed to meet my running partner (who lives in the other side of town) 15 min. ago.  Opps- turned off the alarm in my sleep in response to my husband's watch alarm going off... In a fog obviously- I was really off to a Monday-ish start!

Got ready as fast as I could, sped to our route and drove a little to see if I could find her, realizing what was supposed to be a 5/6 miler was already cut by 1/2 hr- I only had 1/2 hr left to run.

Luckily found Buff (this was my first time in yrs. meeting up w/ her to run, I'm sure she's thinking I'm quite reliable now).  She was going a fast pace so I jumped in and suprisingly felt great! After about .5 mile the rain started, then the St. George flash flood! Good times! The street quickly flooded and the lighting was JUST overhead to the point I'd jump a little at each crack.  We were getting soaking wet and loving it.

This was getting fun and not the expected mundane Monday morning run- yippee.  Only wished it could have lasted longer.  2 miles in 19 min, 9:30 av. pace.

If the rain lets up I'll run 3 mi. tonight, since Sarah has inspired me to attempt 5 milers on a more regular basis!

What a great run! Don't worry, anybody who drives around looking for her running partner so she can run in a thunderstorm can not be called unreliable. I wish I could've been there. Sounds like a riot!

I innocently decided to read your blog and was embarrassed at the mention of my infamous name at the end. I'm glad I've inspired you..it is soooooo rotten that we can't be partners. I'm feeling especially lonely right now because my partner just moved. Although I've had a great time running on my own and just keeping myself company looking at the Garmin....acckk! I'm becoming like Sasha.

I am going to be doing 5 miles a day but I won't be doing any longer runs or tempo runs.

Well not happy with a mundane Monday run, had to go find a little excitement! (HEHE) Sounds pretty fun to me! My husband hates lightning and hates when I go out in the rain. ( A fear passed on from his mother. In lightning storms his mom used to gather them under the table. I tend to take my kids and run outside, while he tells us we are going to get killed. My mother passed on the fear of snakes it seems like we all give our kids a few of those weird fears ..... but anyways) Good job getting out in any and all conditions. I just hope I share your sense of commitment when it's in the teens and below zero here this winter. I know it's hot now but I'm already dreading the cold temps to come!
