14.5 mile training run today.  Some friends joined Heather & I so there were 4 of us.  I was glad because I knew that would motivate us to not walk too much.  Heather & I get so comfortable when its just the 2 of us running, sometimes we want to talk more than run! Anyway- we did a loop around Washington Fields.  I don't know that area very well so really I didn't have a clue where I was most of the time.  It was pretty, lots of panoramic views.  Started at 5 am and ended a few minutes before 8.  Matt took his new Garmin and we were averaging 10 min. miles for most of the run, but then the Garmin's battery died around mile 9- he figured he must not have charged it correctly before its first use (which was the day of our run).  We stopped at mile 3,6,9,12 for water, gatorade and snacks (banana, dried mango, gu).  So we took probably a good 5 minutes at each stop to drink, snack & walk a bit.  I'd forgotten how much time these training runs take! Next Sat. Heather & I plan to do about 16.5 and then the week after we have a 19 miler planned with the same couple (Matt & Chris).  After the long run I came home and slept for about an hour, then got on with my day like normal.  We went to the lake and actually did some wakeboarding & skiing.  I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get up behind the boat after running so far, but happy that I could with no problem! It was a short ride though, fatiqued quickly.  Today I feel pretty good, just a little stiff in the calves.  I did get a nasty blister on my left foot.  Think I will mess around with different socks and its time for new shoes anyway, probably will pick some up this week.

28.5 miles this week, very happy about that.  AND I actually made it to weight lifting class 2x this week.  Now if I can just continue to sleep & eat decent, I should be OK and can hopefully keep up this intensity for training this month.

Wow! Great job Christi. That is a lot of miles in one day!
