My kids wanted to climb VB with me on Fathers Day, so we waited for it to cool down and started about 7:45 pm. We had a lot of fun and the kids were actually pushing the pace and running because they were excited to get to the top. We stayed on the summit for at least 40 minutes looking for horned toades, taking pics and enjoying the views. The sun set just as we were leaving and we enjoyed the hike down, but my 7 year old complained the last mile and wanted to be carried, but he needs to toughen up, so he walked it in. Best part of my day.

What a nice Father's Day! They are very lucky to have a crazy trail guy as a Dad :)

Sounds like a lot of fun! I'd say your seven year old did pretty good!!

Way to toughen the kids up! Haha - you think they'll be joining you on your adventures in the next few years?

awesome Father's day! I'm glad you let him tough it out. He will thank you for it...later.

Hahaha. I can just hear you, "no I'm not going to carry you. Move your ass!"

Andrea- They can join me on the easy ones. :) I took them on the Grove Creek trail last year and it totally stressed me out. There are a few drop offs on a small tight trail up there and my kids would run them without a care. Scared the crap out of me.

Jun- Yep. Haha.
