Lake Mountain with Jun:

It has been a week since I have been on the summit of a peak, so I really needed to get out this morning even though I knew there would be a threat of some mud on the trails. I was up at 4:20 am and met Jun at the park n ride at 5:00. It was a lot warmer than I thought it would be today and for the most part the trail was in decent shape, but there was a good mile+ that had some really thick mud and it slowed us down a lot. We both kept getting mud bricks on our shoes and we had to constantly knock it off. The upper half of the mountain was alright and we topped out at a slow 1:10. Just as we were coming up to the top 5 deer popped out in front of us and trotted ahead with the most amazing view opening up to us. It was still dark and the city lights looked really cool.

We both had a gel and didn't stay too long up there. This was the first time in almost a month that I have run without my feet bandaged and for the most part they felt pretty good, but going down from the summit was tough on my ankle. I still have a sore there and it is pretty sensitive. The run down was a lot of fun except for the mud mile. We were not fast, but I won't complain because overall it was a blast.

Just read your Monday blog...you feeling better now?

From Scott Wesemann on Thu, Dec 06, 2012 at 09:47:40 from 66.232.64.4

Andrea- Yes, I am feeling much better. I have just had to eat a really clean diet and cut out most of the caffeine I was taking in. So far it is working. Thanks for asking.

So was it due to the ibuprofen or caffeine? Or both?

From Scott Wesemann on Thu, Dec 06, 2012 at 09:52:35 from 66.232.64.4

The doc thinks it was the Ibuprofen. I have been drinking a lot of caffeine for years without any problems, but in the last 3-4 weeks I have taken more ibuprofen than I ever have and I was taking 800 mg 2-3 times per day. Duh!!

Atta fella - glad to hear things are healing up.

Good morning. Mud happens, we made the most of it.

Glad you feel better Scott. Say no to caffeine anyway :) you'll feel better!

Thanks Lily. Well, I am a DC addict. Caffeine-free DC blows BTW.

Nice run dude. Let your stomach heal up from the ulcer or gastritis that likely was caused by the Ibuprofen...then let the DC back in...will likely be fine

From RachelT on Sat, Dec 08, 2012 at 23:42:47 from 24.10.224.129

800 mg 2-3 times a day, that sounds like a lot. They give you those pills in prescription after you have a baby. You must have had some serious aches and pains. I hope you are feeling better soon and that your stomach will be ok. DC, umm yumm, the best.
