My car broke down in town last night so I am without wheels today. I ran over to St. George Ford to make arrangments to get my car over there and fixed. Got a lift back home then 1 1/2 hours later I decided to run over there and see what is going on. I got half way there and they called and can't get the part till afternoon...I continued running to the bridge at I-15 crossed over past Flying J and then home. Total of 8 miles @ 8:16 pace. Left calf is still tight and was starting to quiver a bit while running up hill. I stopped and slapped the crap out of it to get the blood flowing and it did great the rest of the way..

This afternoon I went for a fast paced walk to get my car, 4 miles in the afternoon...starting to get hot!

Don't force things right now Scott. Coming into Ogden you want to be healthy and strong not hanging by a thread.

Thanks Clyde....I am not pushing too much. Going to take it easy again this week with one more 6-7 mile run Wednesday then friday do a slow 26 mile run down the course to get conditioned for the hills. It is amazing how much better the recovery is from the long runs now. I have enjoyed getting more long runs in and fewer miles during the week. This si giving me more time to recover and rest the muscles.

Clyde, I am looking at Ogden and trying to game plan it. I have been thinking about trying to hit 7:45 pace for the first 8 miles then it gets flat with some small clims....thinking 8:15 till the damn. Then pick it up a bit down the canyon to 7:30-7:45 then finish around 8:00-8:30 for the last portion. That would give me the chance to BQ at around 3:30-3:31 (my BQ is 3:35)I also do want to have fun on this run to get rid of the Salt Lake memory.

That sounds like a pretty good plan. The first 6-7 miles are pretty good and fast miles so be careful not to get too aggressive there. Then as you round the lake it's the hardest part of the course so just try and stay loose through there and save the legs for the canyon. Then after the dam if your legs will do it let them go and try to hang on through town on the trail to the finish.

Should be fun!
