Personal:

Born 1972 in north central Wisconsin

Married for 11 yrs to very supportive non-running wife. Two children : Fiona, 6 (in picture) and Elliott (2 yrs)

Co-Race Director of  Delano Park 12 Hour Run (www.delano12.com). President of River City Runners (www.rivercityrunners.org)

3 cats and 1 dog (chocolate lab)

In high school, I was an slightly overweight , badly asthmatic J.V. cross country runner.  I enjoyed being part of the team but never excelled.   The summer after my freshman year in college I decided to run a marathon.  6 weeks later I ran a 3:11 at Grandma's Marathon in Duluth (1991) and I was hooked on long distance running where my asthma wasn't as much of a factor.

Waited until my mom got up and then I got a early morning run.  Went to Delano and my old neighborhood by church.   I was happy when I returned at 7:30am and  liza was still sleeping.  she deserves a day to sleep in.

got a nice run with elliott in the afternoon.

Hey, I saw your 12 hour run on your blog. There is a race in Terre Haute Indiana called the Hawthorn Half Day Relay and Ultra. It's a 5K trail loop. Pretty neat race. Check it out http://www.hawthornhalfdayrelay.com/

Thanks. I'll put that one on my to-do list. This year won't be the year because its too close to my planned Run across alabama. I'd want to shoot for around 70 miles in a 12 hr and I wouldn't be recovered from that in a couple weeks.

Eric, are you running Strolling Jim this Saturday?

Nope. I would love to but I'll be packing for our yearly trek to the beach. I'm going to try to do at least 40 miles one day on St.George Island. No hills, no shade. Luckily its not supposed to be too hot.

Enjoy SJ if you are doing it. Its an awesome race. Its the race that made me realize I was that ultrarunning was the thing for me.

I won't be there; it just falls on an incredibly inconvenient weekend for me (finals surrounding it), but I would like to run it one of these days...

If I remember St. George Island correctly from the little race I ran on it last summer, then it will be pretty hard to find 40 miles. Where are you going to run? In any case, have fun at the beach.
