| | Today was speed. We ran up to the track, then we did 2 laps and a mile of speed changes. Then we did another 2 laps before starting the speed. We did 1200, 800, 400, and 4x200s. On the 1200 I was supposed to hit 85s so 4:15. I hit 81, 2:48 (87), and 4:13 (85). Then for the 800 we were supposed to speed up to 80s, so 2:40. I hit 81, 2:47 (86). So I slowed down too much. Then for the 400 I was supposed to hit 78-80, I hit 77. Then the 200s were all between 34-35. Then a grass lap and up to sunnyside, a lap, and back to the track for cool down. On the faster stuff my asthma started acting up.

| | AM:
4 with Eleanor in the lovely snow, after which I came home and found the door locked so I had to wait 30-40 minutes for my dad to get back from basketball. Yeah, that was cold.
PM:
For the track stuff we did a ton of lunges that made my legs feel like jelly... Luckily distance runners only had to do 2 sets of lunges all the way across the hallway, from the one side to the other where we do drills, while the sprinters had to do 4 :) Then distance went for our run, flagpole to flagpole. I took it easier, I ran with Andy, Caden and Jakob. Then when we got by the school coming back from the U flagpole our pace had slowed a lot so I picked it up.

| | Today we left for Foot locker! When we got to St. George we went for our run except it was shorter than we usually do it. We cut off the first part of the trail and went to the beginning of the net. But it felt good to get off of the bus.

| | Today we went to packet pickup and then we ran a shorter version of the course hitting all the hills. Nervous for tomorrow! I don't feel fast enough to be in the seeded race, but I know it'll be a good experience. Then we went to the beach!

Foot locker West seeded girls (3.107 Miles) 00:22:16 | | Race today. My race was last, the seeded girls, and of course it decided to rain right when the seeded races started. By the time the girls started it was so muddy. I got about 25 minutes of warmup in and strides and stuff.
When we started I was back of the pack already which was discouraging. I focused on catching people and tried to relax like Bill said to do. Going around that fence was sooo muddy and I had no traction whatsoever from my flats. I had to slow down a ton to avoid slipping. The second time around I wasn't so lucky and my foot slid out from under me. I scraped up my knee, elbow, and hip, but I was determined not to let it turn out like state. Up the switchbacks the mud changed from slippery to sticky and it stuck to the bottom of our shoes making it a lot more difficult. I used the downhill and was able to catch a few people there. On the cement I surged because I knew the next patch of mud was going to slow me down. Up poop out I had to walk halfway up because the mud was so slick that I was going slip and fall to the bottom. I walked to the side and when I could I finished the hill. I really didn't want to walk so I was upset about that. Going down the hill I was careful not to slip but turning the corner I guess I wasn't as careful because I slipped again and scraped the other side of me. Up the reservoir hill i caught a few people. Finishing I caught myself from falling a few times. I realized I was bleeding when I finished so that was fun. Now im typing this in the bus, and we still have to drive from St. George to Salt Lake. We will have been traveling home for 32 hours when we finally arrive because we got caught in traffic in the canyon and the bus driver has to sleep. So yeah.
i don't really know what my time was but it was slow.
