AM: Today was a good run, for the first 4 miles I felt great, we were going 7:40s and it didn't feel that fast. When we were a little ways in the cemetery I the pace started to feel faster, I backed off to 7:55 pace, then tried to catch Natalie and Tomy and picked it back up to 7:35-7:40, but it seemed like they were just picking it up. The last mile felt like death, I backed off to 8:15. Ankle started to bother me towards the end. PM: Met at Liberty and did 3 laps.

AM: Wheeler Farm. Nat and I were late (it was my fault, sorry!) so we got in about .9 of warmup including strides. We ran over to the start, and then did 400, three 800s, and a 400. I was supposed to hit 90s for the 400s and 3:00 for the 800s, which didn't seem that bad thinking back to track season, but it actually felt a lot harder than it should have. Natalie had the same pace so I tried to stick with her. My first 400 was 85, then the 800s were 2:53, 2:56, 2:56. The last 400 was a 92 I think, we went farther than we were supposed to. Overall, I did much better than the last time we came here. I cooled down with Natalie until we got to 8. PM: We met at sunnyside and did an easy 4, going around the neighborhood to people's house intending to pick them up and join us on our run, but only managed to get a friendly 7 or 8 year old to come with us for about a block or 2.

AM:
Today we met at the zoo trail. We went out to the fence at red butte and back. The first mile was a stunning 10 minute pace because that's how we roll. Just kidding. As soon as I was able to get around people I ran with the boys and picked it up. After the big hill we all spread out a ton, and I was with Garek and Nate. I tried to stick with them for as long as I could, we now picked it up to 6:40 pace. When we got to the drinking fountain we stopped for a bit then kept going, this part was probably the hardest part for me, I don't like going all the way up to the fence. On the way back I passed Garek and Nate, but now I was on my own because only Tomy and Chris were ahead. I accidentally went the wrong way, I think it was a lot shorter. The way back was tough for me, I had a hard time getting myself moving again. When I got back, I was only at 6, so yeah I definitely went the wrong way. I went up Emigration canyon for a mile and came back to get to 8. Those last 2 miles were pretty slow because I was tired. My quads were sore when I woke up today, so they were burning through this whole run.
PM:
Met at Highland sign and did an easy 4 around sugarhouse. My quads still hurt and my heel was hurting too.

AM: Today was the bike and run! We did it with the Brighton team. My partner was Eleanor, I started running first and she biked first. I started out good, hit 6:34 first mile. The next 2 miles were under 7 as well. Switching from biking to running felt really weird. The slowest I went (running, I didn't get my biking times) was a 7:23 mile, which was my last one. Overall it was a good run, and it was fun! We were the first girls team to finish, second to our guys team, which was fun too :) Then did 2 more miles with Chris, Eleanor and Garek. Eleanor and I took an ice bath in the river afterward, it was cold and the leeches were creepy. PM: I did a 6.25 mile loop up to the drinking fountain on foothill and then come back to thunderbird and wasatch then go to the drinking fountain by the tennis courts and back down 13th to my house. I did it as a nice, relaxed run. My quads are finally starting to feel better, I think the ice bath in the river helped, but my calves are sore now. Yay.

Today we met at Liberty. We did a lap warmup that felt pretty fast to me, but maybe I'm just tired. Then we did a lap around the pond to know where to go so that people don't cut corners, and then started our fartlek. We did 10x1 minute on 1 minute off. Then we did a cool down and I went to 7. |

| | AM: We went up to Jeremy Ranch road today, I didn't realize it was going to be with a bunch of fast guys from the blog, I just assumed it would be our little East group. Nope. It intimidated me a bit, I knew right off the bat I was going to be one of the slower runners. I hung on for about 3.25 and felt great, and relaxed too, didn't feel fast even though we were going close to 7:00 pace. Then we hit a hill and I fell back. After that I tried for a while to get myself back up to the front group but couldn't. When I got to the 5 mile mark I turned around thinking I was just going to do 10, but then Bill turned me around saying that I had to do 15. Now that I think of it he did say to both Chris and I in the car that he wanted us to do 15, but somehow I thought he was just talking to Chris when he said that.. Weird. Anyway, I ran with Bill (and another guy for a bit) until I got to the road where I was at 7.5 and turned around. The way back wasn't much fun. I did end up walking a few hills, of course it seemed like whenever I did Bill and/or Dakota would drive by. Yay for that. My legs felt really heavy after about 8.5. When I was at around 12.5 Bill ran with me again, at the time I didn't like it too much because it meant no more walking whatsoever, but it was nice to have someone there to keep me going. This felt like the longest run ever. I think this is my second 15 miler... 15 is the farthest I have gone all at once. It was so hot too, I got really dehydrated. I feel better now though. Now I just have tired legs. PM: I did 3.25 around my neighborhood. It felt way short compared to this mornings run :) |
