The race was today! We went to the course and after cheering everyone on and waiting around for our race I lost Emmaline and Eleanor and found Megan so I did my warmup with her and she did it as her cool down. After going to the line we did strides and such. I was in box 13 so right in the middle :)

When I got out I was already towards the back because I got boxed in. If I could do it over again I would have been more aggressive at the line. But once it got further into the race I was able to start passing people. Going through the trench the first time was a bit sketchy because I almost tripped and fell in the water. I didn't get too wet though so that was good. It was SO MUDDY after that, some parts so bad that it felt like I wasn't moving. But at least it was a flat course. Going through the trench the second time my shoes were finally soaked through and I had puddles in my spikes for the next half mile, more mud and more slipping. After mile 2 it got hard for me. I felt like I could breathe just fine, surprisingly easily, but my legs just hurt. Idk how to explain it. When we turned for the final stretch I forgot how long it was and started to kick too soon and when I went through the trench for the third time I slowed down and the people I passed had passed me back. I got myself to start kicking again a little after that but it wasn't much. I was hoping for a faster time, but I guess I'm alright with it. Wish I could've worked harder the last mile.

Then we did a cool down and I'm counting it as 2 miles. It was 18 minutes long
