I did the Judgesrun 5k today. I warmed up 1.25. At the start I took the lead then realized that was stupid because I didn't know where the beginning went, so I slowed down and let other people in front. It did some weird loop in the Highland parking lot before going around the park. After we got out of the Highland parking lot I knew where we were going. There was the guy in front who had a gap on me, then another guy right behind me. My first mile was 5:50 but it had downhill in it. I could feel myself crashing when we got to the far corner of the park, the guy behind me passed me. I tried to get myself to keep racing, but found it difficult when we were going uphill. Then when I got to the top of the hill another guy passed me, I tried to go with him. I hung on for a bit, but then fell off. Finally another downhill I surged and tried to catch up, but couldn't. When we turned on 15th he had a huge gap on me and I slowed down again. Another guy passed me along 15th. Later I could hear a guy right behind me having a hard time trying to catch me, I tried to hold him off. I was able to up until right at the end where he outkicked me.

It was honestly a bad race for me. I didn't like the course. 1 grass lap around sugarhouse and then go along 15th, turn up 17th and finish at the presbyterian church. Uphill finish. Just what I wanted. I felt super lethargic, but I did stay up really late last night because I couldn't sleep. One day when I actually prepare well for a race I will do well. This race at least had a nice breakfast after! I was the first female. Afterward I had a lot of people come up to me and ask if I ran for East :) That was fun, I didn't think people knew who I was.

1.5 cool down.
