I ran the Top of Utah Marathon in 4:43 after having my third child the year before. 5 K in 24:19, 10 K in 53 minutes pregnant. Survived personal training from my lovable but slightly overbearing husband Sasha for more than 8 years!!
Short-Term Running Goals:
Break 23:45 in the 5k.
Long-Term Running Goals:
Stay thin and full of energy.
Not be an embarassment to my family full of world class athletes.
Personal:
Madly in love with Sasha. We have been married since 1996 and have been blessed with seven of the most adorable and talented children : Benjamin, Jennifer, Julia, and Joseph, Jacob, William and Stephen.
All of our children have run in at least one race, including Jacob and William who did it inside the womb. I enjoy various non-running activities such as: baking, sewing, playing organ, piano and flute, painting, and playing with our vivacious children.
49...ish...a little bit off...we went sub 10 and I felt tired at the end...I am getting old. It was sooo freezing today. My hands are crazy hands....I think all my warmth goes there. I can have freezing parts all over me but my hands are sweating.
It's crazy...one of the most annoying parts of my runs in the winter is forcing myself to keep my gloves on...they get itchy and hot after about a mile. But if I don't keep them on I have horribly dry skin from the wind that cracks..ouch.
The few times I have run out side my hands were the most anoying thing as well. Sweaty and hot but if I take my gloves off ice cubes. Although when I am not exercising my hands are always so cold. My kids and husband stay away from my hands and feet from fall to spring.
Let me get back to you about the Saturday runs. I will out of town for the next two Saturdays. I could go anytime though...well...depending on Sasha's runs.
If any other ladies in the south of Salt Lake area want to run with me and Katie let me know. Obviously I'm talking to ladies who want to run on the slower side. :)
The case might be over in two weeks and then in won't matter. The state already has an order to show cause. Which means they have enough stuff on her that they can take the kids. I just don't see it though, so I am trying to help her.
Thanks for warning everyone that they have to run on the slower side if they come with us!
Oh...I hope you didn't take that the wrong way..I was just warning the girls that run like 8:30 pace for fun that they probably wouldn't want to come with us....I've been running for years and will probably never be that fast. Well...I did run that fast for a very short while before I had my third but it was a short lived few months..sigh...
No I didn't take offense to it. I am thinking I will have a hard time keeping up with you and then throw someone in that runs faster and I might just pass out. Ya I am thinking I may not get much faster but I am just starting, I have never ran up until now, not even in school. I was always thin and I did not have to work at it until I had my second kid and then everything went out the window. Don't you just hate how our body's slowly fall apart as we have kids (and get older). It is very sad...sigh....:)
