Well basically it was raining and hailing at lunch so I pretty much prepared for Park City the way one prepares for a climbing expedition on Mt. Everest. Suffice it to say I brought more than a few jackets. Anyways it was not raining or hailing up at the race, but it was for sure still super cold. When I started out for my race my muscles were all cold and even though I was wearing tights my legs didn't really warm up till about halfway in. My arms were freezing as well so I kinda felt like I was running and carrying bricks. My start ended up not being very good, I got cut off a ton and actually had someone grab my my arm and pull me backwards so that was nice. So the first part of my race was pretty tough physically and mentally but after that I kinda picked up the pace and started working on catching up to other girls. When I hit the grass hill I slowed down a lot, I think my fear of slipping got the best of me. But my kick at the end was good so I'm happy with that. Other than my legs and arms feeling super heavy I would say it was a pretty good race. I don't actually know my time so that's just a guess but I'll fix that once I know. On a side note, shout out to all the people managed to table top me today despite my superhuman stealth, and shout out to Collin, Connor, Guppys, and Bill for coming hottubbing and getting pizza tonight. Also shout out to boys varsity for taking first #goals literally. |
