| | We did a tempo run today, our pace was 6:50-7:05/mile for 2.5miles. The first two we held about a 6:55 pace, and I was feeling strong, but the last half mile I fell behind. Overall I averaged around 7:05 so not too bad. Next week I'll work on doing better that last half mile. My IT band is feeling a little sore now, but not too bad, and it didn't hurt while I was running so that's good. |

| | Went on a sick night run today, we went on the Murdock Canal trail starting at a park close to home, then continued a little past Smith's before turning around. Got two really good hills in, and comfortably held an average 8:04min/mile. Super great run, it was definitely nice to switch things up. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 3.50 |
|
| | Grass ran at Highland Heritage park. I did a few variations of a one mile loop, it felt really good to grass run and my IT Band hasn't hurt at all. I had a bit of a ssideache about halfway through my run, but it went away pretty quick so that was good. I held a 8:16min/mile average pace. Now I'm headed up to camp so I'm excited to hit a sick trail! |
|
| | First off I slept in my hammock last night, and it was totally sick even if it was rainy :) Today's workout was whistle hills-I did two sets of 15-20-25 and one set of 20-25-30 up the road/hill just above Tibble Fork. Then I finished up my run on surrounding trails. The higher altitude and bumpy trail made things pretty slow going, but I thoroughly enjoyed my run today for sure! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 4.00 |
|
| | Easy distance run today. I ran to the cemetery and did the 1.5mile grass loop there. Then we lifted weights after. Tomorrow's another tempo run, same pace as last time. The plan is to be able to hold on for a quarter mile longer than last time, so wish me luck! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 2.50 | Barefoot Miles: 1.50 |

| | Did another tempo run today. Our goal pace was 6:45-6:59min/mile. We went for 2.5miles with a commitment point of 2miles (where we all stay together as a group) and held a 6:51 first mile and 7:01 second mile which averages out to the right pace. Alexis was our set leader and she did a fantastic job pacing us. My goal from the last tempo run was to be able to hold with the group for .25 longer than last week, which I achieved! overall it was a good run and I'm super excited for the season. Also shout out to my sister for getting married yesterday and Ellie Struthers getting married today! |

| | We're starting off the week with high mileage so that's five miles for me! We did whistle hills today, three sets of sprinting up a gradual hill for 15-20-25seconds. I lost a bit of conditioning while I was down at SUU this past week so the workout was more difficult than usual but not too bad. As long as my IT Band keeps feeling good I should be able to bump up the mileage in a few weeks so that's exciting. We ice-bathed in the Spring today which was sick! It's definitely nice to be back running with the team! |

|
| | We did mile repeats in the pit today. Our pace was 6:19-6:31 but we hit 6:32 and 6:40 so a bit behind pace but it was super hot and dusty. We worked on pack running and had Alexis lead which she did great at. I felt like I pushed myself physically and mentally so that's good. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 5.00 |

| | I cross trained on the bikes today. We started with a 5min hill climb (turning up resistance every minute) and then we did four sets of 25sec on (increased resistance and speed) 25sec off, 45sec on 45sec off, 60sec on 60sec off, and 90sec on 90sec off. Then we did a couple minutes of cool down and then lifted weights. We also did the pull up challenge today, shout out to Connor for getting me to actually do it. Overall it was a pretty chill recovery day to get ready for some pickups tomorrow. | |
| | We did ten 90sec pickups on the rode today. I woke up late so I did them alone at the cemetery. It was pretty hard for me to breathe, I don't know if it was because of the heat or if I'm just really tired, but it was definitely rough. We went to the spring afterwards and I jumped in which was FREEZING! It took me about an hour of lifeguarding in 100degree weather to warm up! But the spring was a party so that's ok. |

| | This week is moratorium so I just did easy distance at medium mileage (that's 4.5miles which is pretty impressive). I ran with guppy and we headed over to cemetery to get some grass running in. Those sprinklers were definitely a nice addition to the run. Then we got some good abs in so I guess you could say we're killin it. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 2.50 | Barefoot Miles: 2.00 |
|
| | Cross training today. I did 45min of the elliptical on a preprogrammed cross training workout. I also watched a great episode of Smallville while I did this (it's about superman in high school just so ya know) and it was super intense. That's all for now. |
| | Easy distance today. The weather was nice and cool which was good, although I'm already missin the sun! |

| | Today was high mileage plus two so that's seven miles for me! (Fun fact it's been almost a year since I've been able to go on a run that long so hallelujah) I did four before work with the Gupsta (7:20am), and three on the way home (10am). I was definitely feeling dehydrated after being in the pool for two hours but it was not bad. Also shout out to me for attempting to ride the Flo Rider yesterday and not doing too bad! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 7.00 |
| |
| | We ran the Dream Maker today (1.5 miles basically all uphill) it was pretty hard cuz I haven't ran it in a while but I got an 11:08 which is an 11second PR for this season and a 1second PR from last season. Shout out to Connor and Ryan for staying behind me like they were supposed to and keeping me motivated! My IT Band hurt a lot during the whole thing but it's feeling okay now. I'll be sure to ice it really good tonight. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 3.75 |
| |
| | Just some easy distance at low mileage (4miles) today. I ran it all on the grass so that was a bit lonely but it definitely felt good. Afterwards we did some weights #getswoll and then I went to Kneaders and had a fantastic Pink Pinacolada smoothie for breakfast. Shout out to Brock cause he's leaving on a mission to Argentina tomorrow! |
|
| | Another easy distance today. Jackie came on our run with us which was great, pretty uneventful 4 miles at 8:26 pace. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 4.00 |
|
| | Cross trained in the pool today, I did 5× (50m swim-50m aqua jog-50m swim-50m kick) It went really well, about as hard as an average distance run, although my arms got pretty tired so I'll need to get a little more buff it seems. Definitely felt good on the muscles especially the IT Band. |
| | We did a tempo run today, our range was 6:45-6:59, Jamie had me lead today. My watch was struggling a bit with the pace so our first mile ended up being a 6:43 which was a bit fast, second mile 7:00, the second mile was our commitment point so after that we broke up pretty quickly, I got really tired and light headed so I fell way off pace for the last mile (7:30) so that was bad. I haven't taken my iron supplements in a few weeks though which definitely contributes to the tiredness, so I'll remember to take those. Next week I'm gonna be bumping up the mileage by half a mile so that'll be good (I'll be at 4.5, 5, 5.5 so be excited for that!) |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 4.50 |
|
| | Ran over to Freedom Elementary and ran on some of the grass around there then ran home, average pace 8:19, it felt really good to do that much grass and distance, can't wait to bump up the mileage next week! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 2.00 | Barefoot Miles: 5.00 |
| |
| | Whistle hills today, it was cloudy which was nice although I got a little chilly on the way home. The mileage is up to 4.5-5-5.5 so I'm pretty stoked about that! Can't wait for camp next week! Shout out to Connor for having hot chocolate at my house and playing some basketball with me! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 4.50 |
| |
| | Easy distance low mileage. I got some in on the grass which is always good. Definitely a good run. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 2.00 | Barefoot Miles: 2.50 |
|
| | We did a speed workout today, 6×600s at 5k pace. Our pace was a 6:35-6:45 and I kept track of our 400 splits which were 1:38, 1:34, 1:35, 1:39, 1:35, 1:28 so we were right on pace. I felt super good today (I got some more iron supplements which I haven't had in a few weeks so that helped for sure) and I felt like we were working really good together as a pack. I'm getting super pumped for this season to see what we can do! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 2.00 | Barefoot Miles: 2.50 |
| |
| | We had mile repeats in the pit today, but on the way over my IT Band was really hurting so I just did one mile at an easy 7min pace just to feel out my leg. It still hurt and with camp next week I didn't want to push it so I just ran back to the high school and finished up on the bikes with two 6min pickups with four minutes rest on between. I went and bought some tape for my IT Band and I'm gonna ice and roll out extra good today so hopefully I'll be feeling good for camp. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 4.00 |
|
| | Just easy distance today. Guppy and I took it to the grass so that was nice, with the IT Band still a little sore and camp starting tomorrow I decided to keep the mileage low, but overall I'm feeling pretty good so tomorrow should be a blast! |

| | Second day of XC Camp. We ran on the trail that goes alongside deer creek. I felt a little sick the first three and half miles or so, but it wasn't too bad. The run was super pretty and swimming in the lake was a ton of fun as always. Afterwards I headed over to the spring and got some ice bathing in. Then a little sting pong at the Himkleys (I'm basically pro) I'm feelin pretty excited for tomorrow's run so that's good! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 6.00 |
|
| | It was the last day of camp so I went all out on the mileage. (Fun fact the last time I went on a ten mile run was last year at camp, so I guess you could say I'm pretty cool haha) It was definitely a fun run, my IT Band was getting pretty sore by the end but I think it's gonna be fine. The pool party afterwards was a ton of fun, and shout out to me for catching the football like three times! I'm basically a pro so there you go. For sure a great way to finish out camp! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 10.00 |

| | Drove all Thursday night and arrived in California around 10am this morning. Decided to take it as my cross training day so I did some swimming in the ocean, not a super technical workout but still a good one for sure. |
| | Just an easy distance run today, since we're down in Cali I did it on the beach so my calves are definitely feelin it. In all honesty I'm still a bit sore from camp so we'll see how next week goes. Also just in case anyone is wondering the beach is fantastic as always and shoutout to me for finding a super cool shell and boogie boarding like a pro (compared to most Utahn's) Basically I think my chosen career path is going to be becoming a beach bum... |
| |
| | So the team did the dreammaker today but my attempt to recreate it was a huge failure. After running up and down some ridiculous hills and almost getting hit by some outrageously horrible drivers with pretty awesome cars I gave up and headed back to the beach. Then I did 4×800 at 5k pace, my watch had a few glitches so I didn't get the first 800 but the last three were 3:20, 3:13, 3:07. So not really that great of a workout but I wasn't feeling super good anyways so I guess that's ok. On a better note I definitely paddleboarded on the ocean today so shout out to me! #onemoredayinparadise |
|
| | I know I know...I'm supposed to do five but I didn't and that's bad and I know I'm gonna make it up. Don't even worry. I just had to spend more time in the ocean since I'm now on the way home which is basically a strategy. So it's ok. I really needed one more good day on the beach. |
|
| | We did 10×60sec pick ups with 90sec rest at 5k pace. I didn't have a watch on me so I just paced off Alexis-my goal was to be able to stick with her which I did so I was definitely happy with that. My calves are ultra sore from running on the beach the past few days so be prepared for them to soon be super buff. Then we did a nice ice bath at the spring and played some ping pong at Ryan's house (shout out to Connor and Brad and Collin for beating me-I'll get those bracelets done) and then a game of bball (Me Brad and Ryan beat Connor and Strrt so #champs) Basically you can call me the next Michael Jordan |

Team Race (3.1 Miles) 00:21:33, Place overall: 4 | | We did a Team Race today over at Highland Glenn park behind Lone Peak. I made a goal to stick with Alexis and Butters, for the first mile I stayed with Alexis and we did around a 6:18 which was too fast, I don't know the other two splits but we definitely slowed down, Butters and I stayed together for the whole race, I finished 4th out of the girls and I felt really strong and focused, for sure a great way to start out the season! Also shout out to Strrt because he's leaving on his mission today! |

| | Easy distance today at medium mileage. I grass ran at the cemetery with Megan today which felt good on the IT Band which was a bit sore. Afterwards I hit up the SOLW with Bridge Jadon and Amelia #nervedamage and then went on a pretty sick hike. I'm thinking of bumping up the mileage next week which would put me at 5-5.5-6 #halfmilemore |

| | Today we did 3×3 90sec pickups/sprints up airport drive. I made a goal to stay up with Alexis and I did so I'm really happy about that. I felt really strong the whole time and I was definitely there mentally so that's good. I'm getting super stoked for Sugarhouse and some higher mileage! |

| | No run today seeing as I hiked Timp but that's allright I'm calling it my cross training day. |
| | Pre meet- 3 strideouts on the grass, an 800 at goal pace, and some practice starts. Our 800 was at 6:35 pace so right on. I'm waiting till next week to bump up the mileage but no worries it's gonna happen! |

Highland Invitational (2.9 Miles) 00:20:35, Place overall: 81, Place in age division: 4 | | I felt good during the race, first mile was around a 6:20 so we're gonna need to slow that down cuz average pace for the race was a 7:05, anyways we did pretty good pack running but we for sure still have some kinks to work out. I felt really good physically and mentally so that's sick. I'm excited to see how much we improve throughout the season! Its gonna be a good one! |

Lehi vs Westlake Dual Meet (2 Miles) 00:13:04, Place overall: 6 | | We had a dual meet with Westlake but we don't actually have results yet so I'll update the time once I know. We treated this as a workout not an actual race so more like a tempo run. Jamie wanted us to stay together as a pack for the first mile which we did (6:30 pace) then we all kind of split off. About the last 800m a killer wind picked up so I just tried to draft as much as I could and push through, it was a good workout/prep for Grass Relays on Saturday so that's exciting! Also un-shoutout to @teampre because they dunked me in the SOLW 3 TIMES! #savages and I still gave them hot chocolate so I guess you could say I'm a real friend. But seriously, I'm gonna need some revenge. |

| | We did a speed workout today- 4 800s on the overpass and 2 800s on the track- my splits were 3:16 3:05 3:12 3:06 3:12 2:59 so more or less consistent. It was rainy so a bit cold at the the beginning but fairly refreshing by the end. I felt like it was a good workout we worked really well together as a pack and held our pace so that's definitely good. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 5.50 |

| | Easy high mileage today-in case you didn't notice that means I bumped up my mileage so feel free to congratulate me ;) We ran over to the cemetery and did some barefoot on the grass which felt fantastic. |

AF Grass Relays (2 Miles) 00:13:27 | | Grass Relays today, I was feeling really good even though it was super hot outside. Our order for the relay was Guppy, Me, Emily, Butters, Alexis. During my leg I felt pretty strong. I just focused on the team ahead of me and tried to slowly work my way up. It was hard to pace myself without anyone else around but I feel like I did ok with that. I passed a couple of people but with about a mile to go I started to kinda fall off pace. I think I just kinda zoned out so it would've been good to throw in a couple surges there. With about 800m to go I got back into it and picked up the pace. I didn't start my kick as soon as I should've though, that last set of hay bales kinda threw me off. I did beat this girl who tried to pass me at the end though so that was sick. Overall our team ran a 66:10 and took 6th out of all the teams there. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 1.00 | Barefoot Miles: 3.00 | Saucony Shay 2 Miles: 2.00 |

| | Just some easy low mileage so I hit up the grass at the cemetery. It was really hot and I was pretty tired. On a side note Connor compared me to a dog who supposedly has more mileage than me, but I just checked out Moxie's blog and I had higher mileage last week by like 2 miles so take that Connor! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 3.00 | Barefoot Miles: 2.00 |
| |
| | Easy low mileage again today. I ran with Guppys and Alexis and we didn't do any grass so that's new. Then we lifted some weights #getswoll and finished off the day with a XC dinner at Ryan's so shout out to him for that! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Miles: 5.00 |
| |
| | We treated today like a tempo run so first two miles were supposed to be 6:45-6:55 pace. First mile I think I heard someone yelling splits and we were at a 6:40 but I don't have any other splits or my time yet. During the warm up my IT Band was pretty tight and by the end of the second mile it was hurting pretty bad. So I slowed down quite a bit so that I didn't strain it any worse because I wanna be in good shape for BYU. Other than that I was feeling super good so I can't wait to see how BYU goes! Afterwards I hit up the SOLW which is terrifying at night in case anyone is wondering. |
Barefoot Miles: 1.00 | Saucony Shay 2 Miles: 3.10 |
|
| | So today was my cross training day and I decided to do a swim workout. I did 10mins of aqua jogging in the deep end as a warm up, then 8×50swim, 50kick. I finished up with another 5mins of aqua jogging in the shallow end as a nice cool down. Also I went off the high dive since we are closing soon. Like on Monday. So shout out to all the lifeguards I've had a blast with this summer and especially to my team for Indoor vs Outdoor games cuz we totally dominated! (In case your wondering I'm a lifeguard at the outdoor pool) #teamtriceretops |
| | Cut back the miles today cuz of my IT Band. Its still a but sore but for the most part it's feeling pretty good. We did pre meet today, 3 strides, an 800 at goal 5k pace (3:12) and 3 practice starts with the team. I'm pretty stoked for tomorrow there's always a ton of great teams and competition there. After our run today we headed down to the SOLW and so my legs are gonna 've feeling fresh to death tomorrow! |

BYU Autumn Classic (3.107 Miles) 00:20:42 | | So the night before the race I carb loaded and went to bed early so I woke up feeling pretty good. We were supposed to race at 10:15 but at like 9:45ish they announced that they were pushing it back-that was frustrating since we had already warmed up but it was allright. We ended up racing at 11:20-at the very start my legs felt kinda heavy and tired but by a half mile in they had warmed up and were feeling good. The first 1.5miles or so I was able to stay right by Kaylee just a little bit behind Butters and Alexis. The next mile I definitely fell off pace, I was really tired and I lost Kaylee, eventually Emily came up behind me but I didn't go with her when I should've. The last half mile was good, Jamie told me to we needed catch the Riverton girl ahead of me which I did, and I felt like my kick was really good (that new track is just fantastic) Overall I just need to focus more on improving that middle mile and then I'll start to do even better. On a happier note, today was a PR for me so I'm super pumped about that! Also Maddy Kauffman came up and it was super fun to see her. And as a girls team we took 4th and last year we took 13th so kinda cool to see how much we've improved! Also shout out to me because I got more miles than Moxie this week and @connorballer didn't think I would |

Bob Firman Invitational (3.107 Miles) 00:21:15 | | My legs were feeling pretty fresh for today after a KILLER ice bath yesterday. But my race ended up not being very good~ ever since I got sick last week I haven't been feeling very good, and I haven't been able to eat as much food. So this next week I'm gonna really focus on getting in the calories and hopefully my races will start improving. Looking back on my race o definitely fell of during the second mile-that's when I lost Emily and Megan, but I got back on track pretty quickly and tried to focus on catching other teams. I felt like I was there mentally but my body was just exhausted. As for the team everyone is looking super good! Shout out to our boys team for taking fourth and Connor and Ryan for taking top 20! |

| | Easy high mileage today-Guppy, Watson, Butters, Megan, and I headed up to my house where we stopped for a quick drink of water. Then we headed on back to the high school and did 10min of abs. |

| | Half mile warm up barefoot on the turf, then s200, 400, 800, 1600, 800, 400, 200 all at 5k pace (6:35) with 1min, 2min, 3min, 4min, 3min, 2min rest. Splits were 46, 97, 3:16, 6:37, 3:10, 84, 34. Afterwards 1.5mile cool down with Megan and Alexis. And shout out to my mom for making a killer dinner for me tonight! She's always got my back! |

| | Cross trained today-just a preprogrammed cross country workout on the Elliptical. Bascially a party was going down. |
| | Pre meet today. I left my clothes and shoes at home so I went there after school and changed, then ran the mile to cemetery to meet up with the team. While I was waiting for everybody to get there I did another .5 on the grass. Then we did and 800 at goal 5k pace (3:08) afterwards another 1.5 on the grass and then I ran back home. I tried to go ice bath at the SOLW but it was off so that's no good, but I just had a fantastic smoothie from Roxberry so that's sick. Also shout out to my baby sis cuz it's her BIRTHDAY! |

Park City Invite (3 Miles) 00:20:56 | | Well basically it was raining and hailing at lunch so I pretty much prepared for Park City the way one prepares for a climbing expedition on Mt. Everest. Suffice it to say I brought more than a few jackets. Anyways it was not raining or hailing up at the race, but it was for sure still super cold. When I started out for my race my muscles were all cold and even though I was wearing tights my legs didn't really warm up till about halfway in. My arms were freezing as well so I kinda felt like I was running and carrying bricks. My start ended up not being very good, I got cut off a ton and actually had someone grab my my arm and pull me backwards so that was nice. So the first part of my race was pretty tough physically and mentally but after that I kinda picked up the pace and started working on catching up to other girls. When I hit the grass hill I slowed down a lot, I think my fear of slipping got the best of me. But my kick at the end was good so I'm happy with that. Other than my legs and arms feeling super heavy I would say it was a pretty good race. I don't actually know my time so that's just a guess but I'll fix that once I know. On a side note, shout out to all the people managed to table top me today despite my superhuman stealth, and shout out to Collin, Connor, Guppys, and Bill for coming hottubbing and getting pizza tonight. Also shout out to boys varsity for taking first #goals literally. |

| | Met at Summercrest Park at 8:15 and went on a run with Watson, Bill, Butters, Megan, and Guppy. We ran to the Murdock Canal trail and took that up to Smith's then ran on the trail a bit longer then turned around and headed to Kneaders where we got some breakfast. By then we were all done with mileage so Guppys dad came and picked us up. It was a super fun run and the weather was really nice. And of course Kneaders is always fantastic. |

| | Did half mile warm up then led team stretches #represent then varsity had a speed workout, we did 12×400s: the first four were at 5k pace (goal pace ranging from 90-1:40) with one min rest between each, the next four were at 2mile pace (80-90) with two min rest between each, and the last four were at mile pace (75-85) with three min rest between each. My splits were 94 92 92 95 90 85 87 85 79 82 81 83. I felt pretty good during the workout but my legs were super heavy by the end. It felt good to do some faster leg work today. Basically I'm getting pretty stoked for region it should be awesome! |

| | Half mile warm up then 2 miles of speed changes on the turf. Afterwards I finished 2.5 miles on the grass with Collin, Riley, Twins, and Ryan. |
| |
| | Cross training today! 50m warm up then 10×(25m aqua jog, 25m swim, 25m aqua jog, 25m swim) plus 200m kick then 50m cool down in the pool. Since I did not have to go to school today I went swimming around 8am,then had a fantastic breakfast. It was really just great. #shoutout to Gupsta for letting me share a lane with her #shoutout to Badoobs, Kaden, TP,and Quinn for going rock climbing today! And #shoutout to the sophomores for taking the PLAN test so that I didn't have to come to school |
| | Pre region-ran to the cemetery then did some strides, 800 on the grass (3:07) and some starts. After the run I took a 15min ice bath. We just had a team dinner which was delicious as always. Right now I'm elevating the ole legs before heading off to bed. We've got Region tomorrow and I'm pumped! |

Region (3.107 Miles) 00:20:49 | | Well Region did not go well for me. I'd prefer to not dwell on it so I'll just leave it at this: I felt good first mile and a half of the race but then I kinda lost it mentally, and the rest of the race I really struggled. We missed qualifying by four points so that's been hard to deal with. On the bright side I was only 7 seconds off my PR so I didn't do as bad as I thought. Guppy made it to state though so I'm super stoked to watch her race! |

| | Well until we pick up training for NXR I'm just running with Guppy so she doesn't have to be alone. So today we went over the overpass and then took a right and pretty much ran straight til we hit a park. Then we mighta gone down the slide and had some adorable little kids tell us to "Get of our pirate ship!" It twas pretty cute. Then we ran on a nice little trail for a bit before moving on to AF Jr High where we stopped for a quick drink/bathroom break. Then we ran back to the high school and got in ten minutes of abs. #getswoll And I just had a delicious popsicle so it's ok if your jealous. :) Also you should note that 6.3miles is the farthest I've gone on a run in a while so that's sick. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 6.30 |
| |
| | Guppy and I ran during fourth period today so that was sick. We hit up the Murdock Canal trail and took it till we got up by Smith's, then we took a right and ran on the road behind Smith's til we hit the Timpanogas Highway and ran on the trail that goes along that til we hit Wendy's, where we took a quick stop and got some cups and filled them with ice-which was fantastic-then we ran back. It was a great run especially because we've never gone over there before. Quote of the day by Guppy, "Sometimes life is just golden." |

|
| | Well the rest of last week I was forbidden to run so that's why I didn't in case you were wondering. But today Badoobs and I went on a trail run up Corner Canyon, it was fantastic! All the leaves were changing colors and the weather's so nice. It was definitely a good reminder of why I enjoy running so much. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 4.00 |
| |
| | Went on another wonderful trail run today. The fall weather is just absolutely beautiful. I really need to go on trail runs more often they are just so enjoyable and the hills and higher elevation are so good for me. Basically let me know if you ever wanna go cuz I'm 100% down all the time! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 4.00 |
|
| | Ran a mile with Jadon and then ran up to then cemetery and did a mile on the grass and back to the high school again. And in case you were wondering I do in fact have the highest mileage out of everyone on the team this week so feel free to be impressed #callmegarek And shoutout to our boys team because they killed it yesterday at State taking 2nd place and shout out to Gups because she did amazing at State as well with a fourteenth place finish! I'm so proud of the team and everything they've accomplished this year! |
Barefoot Miles: 1.00 | Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 3.00 |
|
| | One mile warm up, then we did a circuit workout where we ran a lap then did some sort of arm/leg/ab exercise for one to two minutes. I did the laps barefoot on the turf so that felt good, and we did this for a total of two miles. Then a mile cool down and some headstand practice. |
| |
| | Just ran down my road towards the Alpine Highway till I hit two miles then came back. Good run, the cooler weather has been nice. Shoutout to my work family because we partied hard last night! Good times. |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 4.00 |
|
| | Ran 3 with Kaylee up and over the overpass through the neighborhood by the Jr. High and back down the road by Sego Lily and back over the overpass. Then 1.5 on my own on the turf. Shout out to the marching band for making me feel like I had my own theme music #movieworthy and to all the boys on the team providing me with all sorts of ideas for Sadies. Pilgrims and gorillas will be highly considered but I make NO promises. |

| | Warm up barefoot on the turf, then ran up and over the overpass turned left at the end of the cemetery and ran past the SOLW and past Trafalga, then down to Main St. and back. Did some abs and stretching after. Shoutout to the fan club I didn't know I had because they rock! And shoutout to Thom because he helped me with some killer math today! |

| | Cross training today-I was feeling pretty sick after school so I got on the elliptical for like 20mins before just heading home. I had some soup and took a nap and in feeling a lot better so hopefully I'm good by tomorrow. |
| | 4 mile progression run-our first mile was supposed to be a minute slower than goal 5k pace and then each mile from there on out was supposed to be 10sec faster than the one before. Goal pace is a 6:30 and my splits ended up being 7:25, 7:07, 6:52, 7:13 so we definitely need to keep a better eye on the pacing. I was feeling really good the first three miles but on the last one my stomach really cramped up and it hurt a ton! I talked to Jamie and she thinks I probably need to hydrate more which makes sense because I haven't been very good at that since it started getting colder-also I think I'm still just feeling a little sick from yesterday. Hopefully it blows over soon. |

| | I ran during first period today because I had to work the Halloween party right after school! It was pretty chilly so I definitely struggled getting the muscles warmed up even in tights and a jacket. My left calf was feeling a little sore at the beginning but it feels alright now so that's good. I didn't have time to get that last mile in so I'll have to make it up tomorrow. That's allright though it'll be a nice long run. Shout out to Caleb for my buying me and Connor some heavenly hot chocolate today and shout out to all the people who asked me if I had even dressed up today at the Halloween Party (answer:yes, I dressed up as a flower child aka hippy) and of course shout out to all the small children who were impressed with my face painting skills |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 4.00 |
|
| | Ran on the Murdock Canal Trail with Guppy today, we went at like 1:00 and the weather was really nice. Really good run it was nice to talk for a bit. Shout out to Matt Todd because it's his birthday and he's killing it on his mission! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 5.00 |
|
| | One mile warm up on the turf (shoutout to the boys for warming up with me) then we did a two mile circuit workout on the turf. We did a lot of exercises to work legs, arms, and core. Circuit workouts are definitely one of my favorites because I feel like I get a lot done. Afterwards I did 2.5 to finish up to high mileage with Bill. It was a little bit warmer than last week so that was amazing. Also I think I did a total of 60push ups so it's ok if you're intimidated by my biceps tomorrow cuz they are swol. And since its November I better say that I'm #grateful that I have a healthy enough body that I'm even able to run (since I've been mostly injury free for about a year now) that's pretty much the best. |

| | Mile warm up on the turf, then ran to the cemetery and did 2.5 barefoot on the grass, then ran back to the high school. It was kinda chilly today which is unfortunate but overall it was a good run, lots of time to think about life and such. Oh and to keep up tradition I'm #grateful for warm clothes so that I can run without freezing to death |

| | Cross training today-went to the pool, started out with 50free easy for a warm up, then a 500free, on the odd 25's I changed how often I breathed (every 2 strokes, then every 3, etc. til I hit every 6 strokes then worked my way back down-on the even 25's I took a breath every 2 strokes for recovery) then I did a 500 where I did 50 aqua jog 50free 50 aqua jog 50kick til I hit 500. (It ended up being 3 sets of 50aqua jog 50free and 2 sets of 50aqua jog 50kick) then I did an easy 50free for a cool down. Before I hit the pool I talked to Jamie about goals and such for track season. I'm a little nervous about some of them but for the most part I feel confident and ready to kick it into gear. It was definitely a good talk and I'm getting pretty excited for the season, especially since its my last one! Shout out to Austin because he came and did the 2nd half of the workout with me (he already biked today that's why he only did half) and to the lil sis cuz she came with as well, and to Watson because she's the best and because she wore a sick jacket today. And today I am #grateful for the water aerobics belts so that I don't drown when aqua jogging. Truly I am blessed. | |
| | We had a speed workout today so we warmed up to the grass above the cemetery and the workout was 3×(100, 200, 300) at two mile pace (6-6:10) up the Airport Dr. hill, with rest being the run back down the hill, and after the 300 an easy recovery lap on the grass. During each set I tried to focus on staying with the pack and being there mentally. I felt really strong and didn't separate myself physically or mentally with the other girls which is something I sometimes struggle with. It was a really good workout and I'm definitely happy with it. It was freezing cold today but no worries I wore two jackets, running tights, and gloves so by the middle of the second set I started to warm up sufficiently. Hopefully adding a few layers will help me prepare for the heat in Arizona, which I am extremely excited for! Shout out to Jamie because she ran with us today which is always the best. And today I am #grateful for hot chocolate because sometimes that's the only thing that makes me feel warm |

| | It was pre meet so I warmed up a mile on the turf then ran up to the cemetery where we did our 800 (3:05) my legs were feeling pretty heavy from the speed workout but that's ok-it was slightly Lester chilly than the day before so we can call that success. Shout out to my mom cuz it's her birthday and she rocks it! And that means that I am obviously #grateful for my mom and all the support she give me! |

Pre-Footlocker (3.107 Miles) 00:21:25 | | The girls race was at 8:30,we warmed up at like 8:00 because it was so cold outside. We started out the race and I got boxed in for a minute but after rounding the first sharp corner I was able to get out. During the first mile I felt really good, I didn't see any of the other girls (we got separated at the beginning) so I just tried to run my race and stay with the people around me. Second mile I kinda lost it for a minute-I couldn't really breathe very well and I was super cold especially my hands and legs-so that mile wasn't very good. Last mile I got back into focus and tried to work on sticking with the pack just in front of me. I held onto them pretty good and then Kaylee caught up with about 800 and we ran most of the last bit together, I lost her for a minute on the track coming in to the finish, but I finally convinced my legs to sprint and came in just milliseconds behind her. Overall I am pleased with how I raced and I can't wait for NXR to try and improve some more! Shout out to the fam for bringing me hot chocolate and croissants at work, they're the best. And today I'm #grateful for wool socks because they keep my toes warm and toasty. |

| | Well I made the smooth move of leaving my shoes at home today-and there's been some construction going on so the field has been locked up. So I ended up with all my mileage on the turf today which equals like 20somethin laps. Real pleasant. But it did feel nice on the legs and the feet so really it was a good thing. Afterwards I got some good abs in and stretching, witnessed a couple fights and practiced my headstand. So it was certainly a productive day. Shoutout to Watson, Butters, Mario, Megan, and Collin because they ran with me on the turf. Gotta love em. And even bigger shout out to Coach G because she actually had her baby today! Pretty exciting! And today I'm #grateful for my team today because they really are the best! |
| |
| | We did whistle hills today and let me tell ya, it was cold! But I felt really good during the workout and I was warm for the most part except for the hands #circulationprobs overall it was a pretty good run, I got some good abs and stretching in so that's nice. Currently I am killing it at work keeping people alive and such...shoutout to Austin cuz he's here doing his workout. And today I'm #grateful for the water aerobics ladies so that I have music to listen to at work |

| | Cross training-400free warm up then 10×(25aqua jog 25free) 15sec rest between each set then 5×(100kick) and 100free cool down. Shoutout again to Austin for coming with me and to my Dad for making me a wonderful grilled cheese (bounty hunter or pro chef?) And today I'm #grateful for the nice guy who let us share a lane with him at the pool today, he's probably the nicest person on earth. |
| | Speed workout today-1600 1200 800 400 200 200 starting at 5k pace and dropping 5sec per 400 pace each set. Splits ended up being 6:22 4:41 2:54 81 35 35. I felt really good during the workout mentally and physically. We hit all our paces pretty much right on and everyone's looking really strong. Later tonight we had a team dinner and read some pretty heartfelt letters so shoutout to Jamie for that idea. And today I'm #grateful for all of our Veterans who do so much for our country. |

| | Pretty sure I almost died today that snow was rough. Pretty much my face was numb and my ears and my hands and my legs. But no worries it was still a good run because we made it into a grateful run. Basically we listed all of the things we're grateful for so I'm feeling pretty good. This one comes from Butters today but I think pretty much everyone is #grateful for warm hugs especially on cold days like today. |

| | Left at 6:45ish for Arizona. Stopped just after the bridge and got a run in, just an easy four. The way out we ran along the highway and it was super sketch so we ran back through the golf course. It was super pretty so that was sick. #Grateful we made it to Arizona safely. |

Everybody was feeling super good and ready for the race. Afterwards we bought some sick shirts and went to the pasta dinner where we me Shelby Houlihan which was fantastic. Back at the hotel we took a wonderfully cold ice bath and elevated the legs. #Grateful for pasta dinners to fill me up with some serious carbs |

Nike Cross Regionals Southwest (3.107 Miles) 00:20:20 | | Race day! We didn't quite make it into the championship race so we were in the large open schools race. Got to the course at about 8:00, started warming up around 8:10 did an easy mile and got in some stretches and ate the Snickers. Got to the line and did a few strides, prayer, cheer, then we were ready to go. The gun went off and we all got out pretty quick. First mile went by really fast, I didn't go up by Watson and the other girls because they usually go out too fast for me but I kept them in my sights. Second mile I focused on catching other girls and moving up. I threw in some surges after most of the curves. I was feeling really strong and I was holding a good pace. Third mile I just kept trying to hold my pace, with 800 to go I kinda lost it mentally and slowed down a lot. But after about a 400 I whipped it back into shape. My kick was really strong and I passed quite a few people so I'm pleased with that. Also I got a new PR so that's sick! As a team we took 4th in our race and I'm super proud of how we all preformed. I absolutely loved this course and the whole trip was a blast! Shoutout to our boys team because they also did really well and huge shoutout to Gups for taking second overall! Also I held my own against Collin in rock paper scissors (where you slap the person's hand who loses) in the end we called it a draw but I think I coulda won it (the bruise on my hand was prime) and I'm #grateful for such an amazing opportunity I had to come down and race it really was amazing! |
Saucony Mirage 5 Second Pair Miles: 4.50 |
|
| | Easy low recovery today. My legs are quite sore which is weird considering they weren't yesterday. Anyways after a half mile warmup we just went over the overpass and took a right til we went out two and then came back. Afterwards we did 15min of abs with 7 pushups between each min plus 2 extras to make an even 100 #getswoll then some good stretching and powerballs at Thoms. Shoutout to Connor because he beat me in an arm wrestle (watch out cuz I'm gonna be even better next time) and shoutout to all the girls who wore their hats today and to Watson cuz it's her birthday and Mama Heaps for the powerballs. #Grateful it didn't snow today |

| | We did the Turkey Workout today so basically 6×500 where the first 400 was at 5k pace and we sprinted the last 100. My 400 splits were 90,91,93,93,87,87 so we were ahead of pace but it felt really good. Afterwards 10mins of abs. On a side note today in sociology we watched a documentary on people living in extreme poverty in Guatemala and it really put things in perspective so today I'm #grateful that I grew up where I did and with the family I've had |

And to finish out nicely on Thanksgiving I am #grateful for all the people who've been a positive influence on my life-my family my friends my team my coaches etc. Thanks for everything you do, love you all! |

| | It snowed! So everything was super pretty for our run this morning. We met at the high school and me and Guppy went up to the cemetery then down towards the SOLW and then past Trafalga and back to the HS. We ran into Thom while we were finishing up on the track and he did a lap with us so that was sick. Then we headed over to Connors for some waffles so shoutout to his mom for making those! Definitely a great start to the day |

Basically everyone and their dog decided I'll be married by 19 so thanks for that. (Seriously people I'm still just in High School!) Saw Austin at the pool today so that was sick and I had some seriously good hot chocolate so I'd call it a productive day. |

Footlocker West Regionals (3.107 Miles) 00:21:45, Place overall: 42 | | Warmed up a mile and did some stretched then headed over to the start line. I got a really good start and was in a good position for the first mile around the valley loop. First mile split was a 6:07 which is pretty fast for me but that's ok cause the hills on the rest of the course slow you down quite a bit. I felt strong on the switchbacks and focused on just keeping them a consistent pace. I tried to really let my legs go on the downhill which felt really good. Then we hit that first hill and I kinda lost it. I was really tired and I slowed down a lot. But I snapped back into focus pretty good on the downhill and stayed that way for the second hill. At the top of that hill there was 800m to go so I went good on the downhill and then focused on picking up speed and getting ready to kick. Once I hit the track I started my kick and it felt really good. I passed a couple of people and finished in a 21:45.8 and 42nd place. They gave out medals to the top 48 so I got one of those which was awesome. I'm definitely happy with how I did this was a great way to finish out the year. These past four seasons have been fantastic and I'm sad to see it end. Shutouts go to Jamie for running well in her race, she kills it. And to Connor for qualifying for Nationals! Also just to the whole team in general everyone did really well. |

| | So we're taking two weeks off of running, last week I didn't do much I just let my body rest but this week I'm doing some cross training. So today I went swimming, my workout was 200free warm up the 10×(50m swim the shallow jog the deep) then 200free where I go from breathing every two strokes to every three etc. which I changed every 50m. Then a 100m cool down; 50free 50breaststoke. |
| | Lifting lower body, 20min abs, then 30min workout on the eliptical.
|
| | 5min warm up then two 10min hill climbs on the bike, cool down, lifted arms today. |
| | Lifted some weights then ran a mile and hopped in the pool for my workout. 100m warm up then aqua jogging on for 1min rest 30sec on for 1:30min rest 30sec all the way up to 5min then back down. 100m cool down. The workout took a super long time but it was good, and it felt really nice to run again even though it was only a mile. |
