20 minutes weights.  planks and pushups and worked biceps

8 treadmill miles.  Alternated the pace and incline simply because I was bored.

weights for 40 minutes.  worked shoulders, chest, & did sit-ups.

8 miles running.  bumped the incline up to 3% for the last .25 of each of the middle miles.  last mile was easy, I was spent!

6 miles on the treadmill - easy run, low incline, 8 something pace.

successfully came up with an excuse to skip my leg workout for the 3rd week in a row. :D  Today's excuse was that my i-pod was dead and my bed was really comfy.

9 miles on the treadmill.  I attempted some speedwork but just wasn't really feeling it.  I ate like crud last night and my stomach was feeling it, ugh.  I just decided to slow it down and take it easy.  No reason to really push the pace during the winter "base building" phase.

30 minutes weights

8 miles on the treadmill.  I attempted speedwork again since yesterdays attempt was an epic fail.  Today was much better.  I didn't push it too hard at all but my next race on the schedule is a 10k so I wanted to get some quick turnover going.

6x800 at 6:11-6:15 pace with equal recover

1x400 at 6:07 pace

1x200 at 5:58 pace

Overall AP was 7:25.  This was a good workout.  My only issue with speedworkk is that my hamstrings are always sore afterwards.  I think it is because I am lengthening my stride and I am wondering if this is normal?  Should my stride stay the same when I run faster or is it normal to lengthen the stride.

As I become a more experienced runner I am trying to pay more attention to my stride and form and this thought came up today.

Ran with my friend Julia this morning.  It was a great run.  I love laid back runs like this.  We ended up with a 8:59 AP!!  So proud of Julia.  She has improved so much and it is very exciting to see.

I always crave a diet coke after running in the cold.  Dang it I need to kick that habbit.  ha ha oh well!
