Short-Term Running Goals: My goal is to continue to enjoy running and maybe get faster a long the way! :) Long-Term Running Goals: Run until I am 100 years old! Personal: I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences. I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn. I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University. | We got home from Phoenix at 4am...driving in a snow storm with 4 rambunctious girls the entire way...I crashed HARD and slept until 2pm. 10 hours of sleep was incredible. My car was at my sisters in SF and she was in SLC so I was stranded in P town. I wasn't going to run but I didn't really know what else to do...ha!
2:30pm - 6 miles easy. I honestly felt pretty trashed after the marathon Sat. Nothing specific, just kind of accumulated fatigue. I can't imagine why:) but it was actually kind of nice and relaxing to shake the legs out.

| Went to the gym because I told my sister I was taking the day off of running. I had all intentions of cross-training but some how I ended up on a TM. 6 miles in 50 minutes. Yikes this was not pretty. I just could not get in any sort of rythm and anything faster than a 8:27 pace felt like I was sprinting. Humbling little run.

| 7 with AmberD, 7:51 pace + 5.5 with Amber Sister, so slow. I enjoyed my Amber sandwhich. I really like Ambers:)
My left achilles hurts.....I think maybe from transitioning from faster to slower?... I noticed it when I stopped running with AmberD and it seemed to get progressively more bothersome the slower I ran with my sis. It almost just felt like my shoes were not "tight" enough to support my achilles. I've never really had any problems with my achilles and I'm assuming it is probably from tight calves. I'll keep an eye on it because achilles injuries are nothing to mess around with!

| Walk with the old man and the pups
Uphill with a stroller to the park. Broke out a sweat! Ran around with the nieces and nephews for a couple of hours. Good times. Sunday Family Funday rocks!

| Yoga class - The best!
7.5 miles on the TM with Heather, 8:00 pace.
I took 2 days off of running to baby my achilles. I pretty much only take a day off of running if I'm dead (<------read: I have not not ran since 2 days after UVM 2013, I couldn't walk.)
So 2 days off of running was GREAT for me. Apparently not running doesn't kill you. Who knew? I don't mess around with achilles injuries because the only thing worse than cross training is not being able to cross train! I did not have any pain today while running. Soreness a little but no pain. I am only really feeling it now when walking up and down stairs. But I just need to be smart with this one and keep babying it if necessary.

| 6 miles with Megan and my sister, 9:05 pace. Achilles bothers me when I alter my gait to jog slower so I had to jog ahead quite a bit. These pregnant gals are unfortunately getting slower. I'll probably spend my evenning creating a walky talky out of cans and string so that we can still communicate....I have a lot of time on my hands these days.
7 mile progressive run on the TM 48:16, 6:53 pace. Started at 7:47 and finished at 6:27. I wanted to quit about 17 times but settled for just one 15 second drink break. Definitely feeling the Achilles by the end. Sore but not painful. To be honest I'm not real sure my brain filters sore vs. painful all that well though so I think I need to be cautious.
Spin tomorrow - I wrote it on the blog so someone out there in internet land hold me accountable...mmmk!

| 16 miles with Janae and Amber, 7:45 pace. My achilles started to 'twinge' a bit around mile 14 so I backed off the pace and let the ladies fly. :) Fun run with friends.
I was supposed to run the buffalo 50 miler but I decided to drop. I've never really DNS a race before that I can remember. I'm an idiot and will basically run through any sort of pain/illness because my braincells are wired incorrectly. But, but, but this achilles thing has kinda scared me straight. I cannot afford a long term stay in a psychiatric facility if I blow up my achilles. To be honest the achilles feels pretty good good and my left calf is becoming massive! Amazing what some good scraping, a bazillion heel lifts, and throwing away my altra's can do.
I made the right choice and I'm sure the buffalo will forgive me.

| 21 with Janae. First 9 with Josse down from South Fork and then meandering around Provo. Stimulating Boston a bit with a lot of climbs. We climbed this monster hill that I hadn't ever climbed before up to Provo temple. I think I cried 3 times.:) Then ended up in Zoobie land, gallavanted down to center street and then back up to Provo canyon to finish. My feets were on fire so I wimped out at 21/22. My achilles felt GREAT which is awesome. I just can't win between my feet/achilles. The shoes that are better for my achilles are worse for my feet and vice versa. Whatevs. 8:07 pace overall for the run.

Something is just not right with my body. I've hit mental walls a lot where I just don't feel like pushing blah blah blah. Whatever I'm going through right now is a complete physical wall...I am literally incapable of moving fast no matter how hard I push.
