Short-Term Running Goals: My goal is to continue to enjoy running and maybe get faster a long the way! :) Long-Term Running Goals: Run until I am 100 years old! Personal: I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences. I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn. I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University. | 20 miles on Antelope Island with Janice and Greg, slow pace. We did elephant head for those that are familiar with the island. It was much more difficult than I anticipated. Lots of climbing and switchbacks. I'm glad I went out with them and now I know exactly what I'm getting myself in to if I decide to do the 50. It wont be a piece of cake...

| 5.5 mi with my sis on the riv trail, 9:23 pace. I could not fathom the thought of running anymore on that trail so I hit the TM for some tempo which is lame but nice for a little consistency and some T-Swift!
6 mile tempo in 40:40, 6:47ish pace? I felt good. My running is not 'awesome' right now but I'm throwing down the miles, staying injury free, and really enjoying it! I'm assuming if I cut back for a week I could probably see some real improvement but that doesn't sound very fun.:)

| 27.3 miles, 8:40 pace. I earned the coveted trucker hat. It's way too big for my shrinking brain cell head. I gave it to my 4 year old nephew, it fits him perfectly.
I had a good time running with Janice and Heather. It was nice to catch up with RAD who was pacing 1:55. Once we hit mile 23 some of the girls I was with were struggling and I felt really good and was just ready to be done. They gave me the okay to go ahead so I did. After running conservatively for 23 miles it was nice to just open up my stride. The last 4 miles were sub-8 which is my new fast:) and the last .3 was 6:18 pace.
My feet are a piece of Sh**t. Hills+asphalt+warmer temps+remotely pushing the pace=ridiculous pain. So lame. I'm kind of over it at this point and honestly don't know what to do. If I decide I want to race hard again I will have to deal with it because I'm not willing to run through that pain anymore. Until then I'll just keep on keeping on and feeding my crazy with more mileage.

| 8 mile out and back on the canal trail from Heathers house in Phoenix, 7:56 pace. I rarely run alone so it was nice to just find my groove and cruise at my own pace. I slept in and didn't start running until 9am. It was a little warm but lovely!
hung out by the pool, read, lounged around with Heather, deep tissue sports massage, and dinner at Oregano's. Not a bad day.

| 26.2 miles with Heather on the Phoenix marathon course, 8:15 pace. 3:37:08!!!! Stoke!
Heather's previous marathon PR was 4:04. She went into the race aiming for 3:38 which would give her a 7 min window on her BQ time of 3:45. Her motives for such a massive PR were questioned. My motives of supporting her motives were questioned. BUT you just can't plug someone's heart into a running calculator. Heather had the heart, she believed in herself, and she trained her booty off literally!
I was only there for the last 6 miles. She didn't need me but I did enjoy the journey. Seeing a good friend train their heart out for a race and then execute nearly flawlessly is pretty much my favorite. I absolutely LOVE observing the transformation of someone gaining confidence in themselves and making the jump to a new level.
