Great run! The Boston is really one of a kind. The spectators were awesome.
The weather was good (50's), but have been training in 30's and 40's. I felt the tail wind some times, but a lot of the time the air seamed stagnant, which added to the heat. At every aid station past mile seven, I was grabbing two cups of water and dumping it on my head, and grabbing another to drink. By the end my feet were sloshing in my shoes like I'd been running in the rain. :-).
I started out a little too fast, and felt it at the end. the last mile was a little over 9 min/mile. Overall average was 7:28/mile. Ended up at 3:15:36.
Overall, I felt it was a pretty good effort considering the injuries I've had over the last year (back, calf, knee, foot, and ribs). Around the second week in August I couldn't run at all, so I felt good about the run.
Maybe it is time to get a little more serious, lose some weight, eat a little better, add some more miles to my runs, and work on speed. I may soon be out of the Clydesdale division in the marathons here in Utah.
Interesting fact: My Garmin 305 and several other's read 26.45 miles for the course--probably because of all the weaving in and around people, etc.
