At the beginning of the week I had a 9 mile at 6:40 tempo run planned for tonight. Since I decided to make this an easy week I cut tonights run to 6 miles at 6:40. I was suprised how easy it felt the whole way through. A few more days of easy then I get start running hard again.

Hey easy is always good! Oh I hope you don't mind that I live a speedy life vicariously through you!

You're going to need to start carrying a fire extinguisher if you run any faster!

nice job man - how many miles are you going to increase your tempo runs to before Boston?

From Rhett on Fri, Mar 06, 2009 at 13:41:11 from 170.215.58.122

I will do max at 9 miles at 9:40 pace. For a traditional tempo run and 14 miles at marathon pace for a marathon pace tempo run. What do you think? Is that enough?

OOPS! I mean a 6:40 Pace on my 9 mile tempo run.

It sounds like a great plan. I asked around about it in the fall and it depends on who you talk to. I went up to 11 "tempo" miles in the fall. Most people told me that is too much. Looking back on it, the pace for that tempo was a little slow for my pacing. I made 6:35 pace for that one, so it was more like a MP but that's ok. It just means that I can improve my training this year.

You are doing a great job this go-around. Keep it up and stay healthy!

Tim
