8 recovery miles this morning. AP 8:03.

Tonight I'm running with Chase again so I'll get in a few more easy miles today.

Did 2 easy miles with Chase after work. My 4 year old boy and 7 year old girl wanted to come along so they road their bikes by us. It was a family affair and it was a lot of fun.

So what do you talk about when you run with your son... that has to be the coolest thing ever. He should start a blog.

It is super fun. We usually talk about school and his friends and sports. He really seems to open up when we are running together.

Looks like another long week for you. Very cool to be able to run with your son. I've got a couple more years until my boys (5 and 6) will be able to run for more than 1K. Can't wait!

Rhett...Have fun running with your son. How many miles are you running this weekend?

I'm slowly learning not to throw in too many races while training for a marathon. They always knock me out for a good week. I should have just taken it easy last weekend. Hopefully I'll be nice and rested for my 18 miler.

Dale, I'll be going 20 Sat morning and my son wants me to take him out for a lap around the island Sat afternoon, so that'll be about 4 more. Tomorrow I'll probably do an easy 6 or 7. I'll be around 70 for the week. Then next week will be my long week of this training cycle.

Great workout last night. I have to run downhill to hold that pace.

Your recovery pace is my puke pace! Enjoy running with Chase tonight. Man, you're building up some serious mileage. I'm running my longest this Sat. and that's it. Next Sat. I have a half-mary, then it's taper time.

From rhett on Thu, Mar 19, 2009 at 18:30:07 from 170.215.58.122

Smooth, what is your plan for the 1/2? Are you going to do it at marathon pace? How much are you going to run building up to it? I'm trying to decide how much to run the week of my 1/2. I'm thinking I'll do a normal week, but take a rest day Thurs and an easy day Fr.

From Smooth on Fri, Mar 20, 2009 at 00:36:34 from 71.36.65.79

The 1/2 course is a challenging one with lots of turns, 3 hills, narrow road and hwy; hard to get in a groove; so I'm running it at marathon pace and might add on 4 miles to make it a 17 miler. The finish is by a parkway so I can run on it.

I will treat that week as a normal week with one speed work, one hill day, one medium long run, an easy one with some strides and one rest day.

I'm jealous, Rhett. Someday I hope my kids will want to run with me. They always tell me they do, but when the time comes they always back out.
