Full body weights followed by 30 min eliptical. Legs were a bit tierd, probably from last nights plyometrics so I only resistance of 8 on the eliptical instead of the usual 10.
EVENING
30 min stationary bike
20 min arc Trainer

Rhett...
I pay so much attention to all of your workouts but didn't even realize how many miles you'd run this week. Great job.
I still don't get how you and Kathie are able to do the elliptical on such a high resistance. You two have mad elliptical skills!!

Funny thing...I had a dream the other day while taking a nap. And in this dream I was on an elliptical machine and right when I started, something happened to the machine to make it as difficult a workout at possible and I instantly felt like I was going to collapse under my own weight. It's almost like there were G-Forces pushing me down. Is that weird or what?
Dale, it is amazing how the miles just pile up with just a few days a week running. I plan on doing a 12 mile progrssion run tomorrow, so that will put me around 33 miles for the week on 4 days running. When I'm in serious marathon mode I hit close to 60 on just 4 days running. As you have seen I do a lot of cross training to make up for only running 4 days though. Now your even dreaming about exercise. You are an exercise/running guru now.
Teena, some days its easier on higher resistance than others. I find I burn about 25 few calories in 30 mins. when I do it at level 8 as opposed to 10. I might as well maximize my time and go as high as my legs will allow. I do think it is important to be able to maintain 180 rpms though to mimick optimal running cadence. They say that elite marathoners run right at 180 strides per min.
I love reading your workouts. Thanks for sharing your running and exercising knowledge. Can't wait to see what you're doing this evening and how your 12 miler progressive run goes tomorrow. You sure know how to fine-tune your training.

Rhett...
That's something I was going to ask about. The 180 strides per minute. I couldn't remember the number. A month or so ago I counted my steps and it was a lot lower than 180. I'll try again on Sunday.

Rhett...
Those are some serious miles you put in when you are in marathon mode. Hey, only 10 days until I start my ultra training!!! Bring it on!!! I'm definitely going to do a lot more strength training this time.
Rhett my rpms are more around 150 at 11% resistance but I am OK with that sense I am no were near "elite"
