MORNING

It was not beautiful out this morning--raining, but I didn't wimp out.  I headed out into the rain for a recovery run, with last mile doing 10, 10 sec hill sprints.  6.4 miles 8:55 pace

EVENING

My legs were feeling a bit sore so I put on my exercise close, put on the "Prince Caspian" dvd I'd been wanting to watch, and watched it while I did some stretching, ab work, push ups, walking lunges, and a few other low intesity jumping exercises.  It was a pretty good movie and I still got in some exercise.

GOOD JOB for not wimping out!!! Nice recovery run x2. Hmm, hill sprints at the end of a recovery run. You did that last week too. Any physiological insights? I wanna add some "spice" into my recovery run too, but not sure if I have the kinda young legs like yours to do that.

I've been doing hill sprints at the end of my recovery runs for about a year now. I just find that by the end of running slowly for so long my legs just want to do something different. The 10 10 second hill sprints don't seem to take anything out of me as far a rcovery go, yet I always feel so much better after the run when I do them. Also I'm trying to teach my legs to turn over fast not log slow miles.

Rhett...

It's fun shaking things up. Way to go getting out in the rain. I think I've suffered some psychological effects from being in the rain so long at SGM. I must overcome!!!

So have you signed up for painters yet? It looks like you and fly might do well at the race... like I know what I'm talking about

Kathie, I think tomorrow will be the day I make the cash commitment to doing Painter's. I've already started the preparation commitment. I might as well make it official. I read your blog. With as hard as you've been training I think you are ready for the PR.
