Personal:

I started more dedicated running and racing in my thirties.  Eventually I developed symptomatic bradycardia and SVT which required a cardiac pacemaker implant and a cardiac cath ablation.  It has taken a long time to get back to running consistently again.  Counting my blessings and trying to remain more balanced with fitness.

Long run this morning before lunch. Caught out in a rainstorm for most of the trip. The rain felt good the first 15 minutes, but gets old after a while and when the feet are soaked. Really happy with today's effort considering the big jump in miles this week and hitting the squat rack just yesterday.  Shocked by how responsive my body was today.

Passed the time away in the rain thinking of childhood memories and my father. There is some parallel to what I was doing out on the trail and what my father use to do and that is spending time away from family on Saturday morning. However, dad use leave us nearly every Saturday morning to go to a local tavern and then come home around dinner time completely wasted. I use to worry about him all day long and didn't like leaving the house because I was afraid of the what he'd do when he got home. I should have started my run much earlier this morning when everyone is still asleep because I don't want my kids to worry about me like I use to worry about my father. The thunder and rain didn't help. An earlier run would have meant a dry run and no worries.
