air quality is "red", so I went up Logan canyon above the inversion and ran from RH fork to about 3/4 miles past rick springs. Not smart- too many blind curves, too steep, too many trucks and cars, not an area intended to be run on, at least in the winter. Should have gone up to franklin basin area. Oh well. 7:58 up, 7:13 back down. Will stay out of that stretch from now on.

Even with all the dodge of cars and steep are, you had a great pace!!

You sure are dedicated to drive all the way up the canyon just to avoid red air.

Yeah, mostly anal retentive, being a biochemist I fixate on what those little pm 2.5 particles are doing to our lungs and being OCD can't bring myself to run in this soup...

Are you running Ogden? Should I take a shot at it? I will be up for some long runs and training sessions once the air clears out! Scott

Baring injury, I'm doing Ogden. Have you done it? I enjoyed it last week.

From redrooster on Sun, Jan 18, 2009 at 19:46:18

Last week? Did I miss it? you mean last year right?

No, I have only done two marathons, TOU2006 and Boston2007, neither to the level I want to. So I thought I would take a shot at Ogden as it is easier for me to train for spring than fall... would be nice to get a group from Logan to go down. Of course, I will be way behind you guys, but let's say you spot me two minutes for each year of age difference as an equalizer...
