I forgot my shoes today and it was track day so I did my first real interval workout in five fingers. Paul Wolf and Carol Rowe had the plan, 6 x 800 but with only 1 minute recoveries. I was going to do miles but what the heck went along with the program. We ran a little slower than when doing 800s with full 400 m  recoveries: 2:57, 2:51, 2:50, 2:50, 2:50, 2:48. Good solid workout though short.

Then ran a 400 in 1:26 and a 200 in 43. Feet held up fine running on the track in the five fingers, but I found some new places on my feet to insert new blisters.  Two mile cooldown back to my office, by the time I got there I did not feel like running barefoot anymore.

Great times, especially with short recovery. Pretty soon you might only have one blister, but it will cover your whole foot.

I find that after a while, I slap my feet down after my heel hits. Two days in a row and I don't want to run in VFFs anymore. If I can keep good form, I'm good for 35-45 miles a week in them...

Steve, thanks, and I think I am well on my way to the one big blister...

Jason, I can only handle two days a week in these. 35-45 miles is amazing. you still wearing them for the half Saturday? Looking forward to hopefully seeing you there. you should be easy to find in the five fingers

Thanks Allie! Carol pushed me really hard, she likes the short recoveries on the 800s and miles, while I always try to get her to do 400 recoveries. I am glad I followed her plan today, a nice difference. looking forward to getting you back on the USU track with us when your semester calms down a bit. See you Saturday!
