Good grief! I just read yesterday's post. Wow. What a jerk! He nearly runs you off the road, but you're supposed to... what? be polite about it? It's outrageous and you should have no regrets. You stood up to a bully. Just a few days ago, I had a car come *across* the road (I was on the opposite side, running against the non-existent traffic) to express his brute nature and scare me by driving fast and close. (In other words, he had to drive on the wrong side of the road to enforce his twisted sense of justice.) Barbarians.
wow, your experience beats mine- it's amazing the animosity some drivers have for us poor runners. we're a little outmatched in terms of damage that can be done if they do decide to hit us... I was running a 10K with a friend a few years ago and a truck purposefully swerved over and hit him with his mirror. I didn't see it happen as I was separated so couldn't do anything, and he was too stunned to react, I wish we had gotten his plates and filed charges.
Sounds like you are drowning up there in the pacific northwest, what a mess. But your mileage is awesome! Already up to 19 miles, I am just trying to get to 14-15. The Eugene marathon sounds fun. I am shooting for Ogden, Utah but still want to do Newport sometime, probably with my friend who teaches at Linfield college in Mcminnville Oregon-he runs that sometimes.
Well, thanks for the kind words and be careful on those flooded roads! Scott
