Pacing for the 1:50 group.

Perfect weather for a race, 45, sunny, no wind, and lots of Christmas Spirit on the course! I ran this one with the pace team leader, Sabrina since I had some trouble parking and showed up to the start at the last minute. She was ready to pace for me and decided to run it with me anyway once I finally showed up. It was fun running with the "boss" and I ran a pretty steady 8:20ish pace all the way through. We ended up finishing a few seconds late because the course was a bit long and I didn't account for that. Rookie move, I know. :(
The only runner with us at the end was Estrellita (same girl that ran with my 4:10 group at TCM) and she pulled ahead in the last half mile to finish well before 1:50, so mission accomplished. Looking forward to next time if I don't get fired :)

Nice job Mike!

I thought to be a Maniac pacer you had to run a certain number of races at that distance within a year. Have they lifted that requirement to get more pacers?

I've thought about it, but it's the "completed 15 marathons or 10 1/2 marathons" part that I haven't accomplished yet.

From rAtTLeTrAp on Sat, Dec 13, 2014 at 16:14:32 from 24.19.84.40

I'm still a little short of that 15 mark too. I offered to cover the empty 4:10 spot at the last minute for TCM this year and they keep putting me on the schedule for 1/2 marathons.

I'm also leading the 3:55 group at TCM next year. That will be #15 for me.

Thanks guys.

Yasir - There's always room to volunteer at races. Pacing is just one of the ways to go the extra mile :)

I know I need to do more than just run.

Great job pacing...I'm just wondering how you kept from blasting out a 6:30 mile on the last one. :-)
