Urban Trail Loop with the Newtons. I thought there would be more snow on the trail, but there was little to NO snow. Just holes and rocks to twist ankles on...Chad and I both tried! Good pace for the fatigue in my legs. At least it was under a 9mm. I made everyone stop at mile 4.5 just before jumping on the trail so that I could catch my breath and relax for a second....yeah, I'm not still recovering, why do you ask? :) AP: 8:54, splits: 9:13, 9:07, 8:56, 8:36, 9:06, 8:48, 9:01, 8:23 - I always run those first 4 progressive, then I hit the trail and it all goes to pot. At least the last mile was a good pace, even though I felt like I was running a 7:00mm! Got home and had 1 hr to sleep before kids wake up time. Took that long to get warm, even in dry clothes. Gotta love winter running. Well, sad thing is I got them up then scurried back under the covers to get warm again and I fell asleep. Good thing my kids are pretty self-sufficient in the morning. I woke up exactly 1 min past "on time leaving" time for school. Threw lunches together and got the kids to school on time...not early, but on time. It was these short 10 minutes where I decided that I didn't want to go to the gym. My legs are fatigued and tired. 8 miles is enough, right? I'm still in recovery and don't need to pay to abuse myself and break down a broken down body any more. So, I went home and snuggled on the couch with my baby for a couple hours. Perfection.
