Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Sleep is a very important part of a training schedule, and I'm not getting it in! Drag, drag, drag...the theme of today's run. Every step felt hard and speed - well, there wasn't any in me today! 3 mile warm-up 9:20, 8:35, 8:56. Hit the track for speed work; however, I had told myself I needed to take it easy - the quad isn't feeling so nice! 800M push, 400M recovery - then hit the road for a 2 mile tempo, finally a 1 mile loop on the track pushing the last lap, one lap recovery. I didn't lap the miles and I don't even know where I really started/ended all of it so my splits are just miles today. AP: 8:30 splits 4-10: 8:12, 8:21, 8:15, 8:27, 8:00, 8:44, 8:10.

Went home and crashed in bed, got woken up by a lovely 'drama' phone call from my husband - gave me the energy I needed to go to the gym and do the total body class. Afterward stretched and did quad repair stuff, it's a achin' now! I'll roll it and stretch it today; hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!

Just sleep while you run. Multitask.

Wow, that's a killer workout. I can't believe you did a total body class after a 10 mile speedwork. You're a machine, a very pretty machine! I heard about your plan to run Suncrest on Thu. Will you PM me more info? Thanks! AWESOME JOB today!

Burt - funny you say that, I actually love to run with my eyes closed and have nearly killed myself a few times doing it :) my neighbor that I used to run with always made fun of me!

Smooth- I'd be happy to! I'd love to see you there, not as much of a party as Saturday, but with you it's ALWAYS a party :)

Run with your eyes closed? I have never tried that.

Okay, you're workout was KILLER today! You said you were dragging, but look at your splits. You got out of bed to get there and get those miles in, you should be very proud.

Take it easy on that leg, icer up!

It's fun to run with your eyes closed - you just have to make sure there is no oncoming traffic and have a good running partner that will yell at you if your crossing the middle line :)

Goin' easy on the leg today...nice restful evening!

Devine Miss M - nap nap and nap - nice workout in a dream state, I will take some of those splits. Closing the eyes or running in a dream state, ran into 3 feet of water last winter night dreaming while running under flooded underpass. It is weird, some runs, cannot remember anything about the run.
