Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Hip flexor is still bad...limped through the first .25 mile to get to a normal gait. AP: 9:31 - started at 10mm then the last .5 mile ramped up a point or so every .1 on the TM mph until the last .1 was at an even 8mm. It was nice to get a run in and sweat a little! :) Did some good stretching and yoga type work in bodyflow afterward. Still can't bend over or put my head beneath my stomach, but I make it work!

I'm not sure I could put my head beneath my stomach.

Congratulations on getting a run in. Sweat is sweet.

Thanks Carolyn! I should say if there is a negative slope at all to my throat, my stomach wants to empty the contents :) my head probably couldn't really go beneath my stomach either!

Hey there- So are you prego? How are you feeling? I am swimming tomorrow but at 10 a.m. it works better for me then. I am starting to teach a spin class Wed. a.m. at Momentum, 6:15 a.m. starting Jan. 6th. Please come-I have no idea what I'm doing and I need a friendly face! -N

I'd love to come Nancy! Yes, I'm prego...due end of June, just getting out of the first trimester, but I usually stay sick until 20-25 weeks. Do you go to SJ rec center...I think they have a daycare there I could chuck-a-child my baby :)

How much is the spin class? I'll have to put it on my schedule!

I'm sorry about your hip but I'm glad you were able to run. I miss you at running group.

Nancy, when I can get the hip pain to settle down I'll be back. I'm just worried it will leave me stranded in an unfamiliar place right now, so I stay on the TM or close to home with my phone in my pocket :)

Devine Miss M - nature has a way of having you feel old at times, this too shall pass, without too much gas. How many tissues did you go thru on Milly? Hopefully, the snot machine factory has closed down. Very good effort to get a workout in, tough as nails, with christmans bells.

Stay Kool, Milly loves you, B of BS Rools out

Brent's comments make me laugh soooo hard!

Rachel, sorry your hip flexor isn't behaving! GOOD JOB with the 5K on milley!

Great run for taking off for so long! I'm SO glad that you're feeling well enough to run! Hopefully once you hit the 2nd trimester, you'll regain some energy and get some good running in.
